Today, I decided to purchase the LEGO CREATOR: Bike Shop & Cafe (31026).  As I work on this set, I will blog about my daily experience creating this set.  My first view of this building is how much I love it.  As a fan of the LEGO Modulars (which are much more expensive and worth owning), the fact that you get two buildings together, is so beautiful.  But first, let’s go ahead and detail what is in this set.

Day 1 began with going with the advance build.  Having worked on LEGO for so long, aesthetically, I wanted to go with the advanced because it looks just right!  I can imagine these shops at a busy downtown area or even reminds me of an area near Santa Cruz Boardwalk.  If anything, places that you want to venture and shop.

But for the first day, it was all about organizing the blocks, as I like to keep things color coordinated.   Some people like utilizing tackle boxes, I just use small Sterelite containers with shelves such as these (and they are inexpensive at $4.99).  And of course, the more you spend and amass LEGO bricks, you will opt for even larger containers.

As an AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGOS), that is busy working during the days and reviewing during the nights, I like to savor the moment of building by taking my time and not forcing myself to finish everything all at once.  When I was younger, I would try to force myself to finish a product and I found myself easily tired, so I go at a slower pace.  So, for day 1, it was all about organizing bricks and a few pages built for now.

I’ll be back for day 2 of my blog about the “LEGO CREATOR: Bike Shop & Cafe 31026”!
