With the sequel of THE LEGO MOVIE currently under production, the final releases of THE LEGO MOVIE sets were released in retail stores.
One of the more inexpensive sets from THE LEGO MOVIE is the “THE LEGO MOVIE – Batman & Super Angry Kitty Attack (70817)” featuring one more the more memorable action scenes in the film as Batman and Super Angry Kitty take on the Micro Manager.
First, let’s take a look at the minifigures!
I’m sure a lot of us own a Batman minifigure by now. And as there are different types of Batman minifigures from LEGO, this one comes with the Black outfit Batman with a double printed face with the scowl and the other smiling. The printing is well-done on both sides of the body and you also get a cloth cape, a Batarang and grapel gun.
As for Skeletron, it’s actually more menacing than the LEGO NINJAGO Skeleton Army and kind of has that Terminator kind of vibe. I thought they may have used the same type of body but this body for Skeletron is much different. But I do like the grey version with the menacing face. It also comes with a weapon.
As for Super Angry Kitty, this one is boiling hot with its red and yellow body and it’s fangs looking out. The body and head is printed, so no need to worry about applying stickers. But for those wanting a less cute Kitty from THE LEGO MOVIE, this is the one to get!
As for the Micro Manager, I will be upfront and say that I thought this was a basic cube and was not going to be worth building and the main reason to get this inexpensive set is for the two minifigures.
Well, after building Micro Manager, I have to say that this killing machine is rather awesome. I love the protruding arms with the grabbing claws and I like how it has two flick missiles, a hover exhaust function and also an exploding function.
Upon building Micro Manager, a lot of thought went to the making of this simple looking killing machine, but Micro Manager turned out to be very cool, menacing and worth building (and owning).
I’m often looking for great deals on LEGO sets and “THE LEGO MOVIE – Batman & Super Angry Kitty Attack (70817)” is under $10 and you can often find it on sale for $7.99 at retail stores. With three minifigures and a killing machine, you’re actually getting your money’s worth with this set.
