To pull off a spectacular Christmas themed wedding at the exclusive Snowview Lodge, wedding planner, Cadence Clark joins forces with Henry Harrison, co-owner of a family-run Christmas decoration and house-lighting company. Cadence and Henry, both single parents of young daughters, grow closer as they contribute to each other’s’ projects. However, a snow storm threatens to wreak havoc on the wedding.
It is day 8 of my Holiday Film Marathon and today I am checking out the 2019 Lifetime Television film “Twinkle All the Way”.
Directed Brian Herzlinger and co-written alongside Megan Henry Herzlinger and stars Sarah Drew (“Grey’s Anatomy”, “Mom’s Night Out”,”Radio”), Ryan McPartlin (“L.A.’s Fienst”, “Chuck”, “J. Edgar”), Lesley Ann Warren (“Victor Victoria”, “Desperate Housewives”, “Harold Robbins’ 79 Park Avenue”) and many more.
The film revolves around single mother Cadence Clark (portrayed by Sarah Drew) who is a wedding planner and trying to make sure she pulls off her best friend’s dream wedding on Christmas Eve. So, while on a rush to plan her friend Avery’s (portrayed by Nicki Whitely) wedding, she is also trying to help out with her young daughter’s Christmas play.
Cadence is a person who believes in self-reliance and is truly a go-getter. But she doesn’t get excited about the holidays.
And then there is Henry Harrison (portrayed by Ryan McPartlin), a widower and single father who is a co-owner of a Christmas decoration and house-lighting company, Twinkle All the Way. Henry runs the business alongside his mother Twinkle (portrayed by Lesley Ann Warren) and his brother Lex (portrayed by Brian Sills). Similar to Cadence, his young daughter Ruthie is also part of the same Christmas play, and like Cadence’s daughter, Henry’s daughter is playing an elf and are good friends.
And the two are assigned to work together for the Christmas play and Cadence is surprised to learn that the lavish Christmas design for her neighbor was done by Henry’s family business.
But Twinkle and Lex are happy to see that Henry has invited Cadence to his family’s warehouse and a sign that he is ready to move on since the death of his wife.
And as the two begin working together, the more they work together, the two learn how attracted they are to each other.
“Twinkle All the Way” is one of those films that showcases holiday magic. How these two single parents, were magically brought together and as Henry keeps telling Cadence (even before they became attracted to each other), “we make a good team”.
And it’s rather interesting, because Cadence is a single mother, but she is also a business woman who is used to tackling things on her own. And now she is with a man, who wants to be be with her, help her and to let her know that he’ll be by her side. But Cadence is not sure what true love is and doesn’t know how she truly feels.
I will say that how the film plays out, there is good chemistry between Sarah Drew and Ryan McPartlin. The fact that Lesley Ann Warren is appearing on the telefilm is a plus and also, being the progressive network, the film showcases a gay couple (Lex and his boyfriend Danny) who are passionate about each other.
But what I enjoyed about this film is seeing how it all plays out. From the Christmas play to the wedding that Sarah had to plan, which is in danger due to a snowstorm approaching their town. But also to how the writers made sure that each of the primary and supporting characters had scenes that mattered. I like that!
The telefilm focused a lot on Christmas, the spirit of Christmas, especially beautiful Christmas design and a magical, romantic story that makes this holiday film a winner!
“Twinkle All the Way” is a delightful romantic comedy definitely worth watching!
