TV TALK: Tuesday’s Musings – Rachael Zoe Project, Eli Stone – October 14, 2008

Tuesday, Tuesday…

My late afternoon began with ESPN Newscenter and catching up on the Dallas Cowboys acquiring WR Roy E. Williams and the suspension of CB Adam Jones. Big news in sports and also another loss for the Boston Red Sox which puts the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1. One more game and they will make their first World Championship appearance. I switched back in forth with the NFL network to watch the final minutes of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Arizona Cardinals game. Painful!

Next was to watch the “Rachael Zoe Project” on BRAVO. Rachael Zoe is a popular stylist for the stars and a show that really shows good insight to her life and how hectic things are behind-the-scenes. In this episode, literally her employees are getting at each others nerves. Taylor, her #1 emloyee who has been there for 2 1/2 years is getting ticked that the new hired help are just kissing her ass while she is still doing the work and she’s had enough of it. Compounding the problem is that it’s hours before the Oscars and all this drama is happening behind-the-scenes.

If anything, I just like how, even though in a stressful mood, she seems calm and collected. I’m just curious how much is edited out in the actual show or is she really that type of person. Nevertheless, a show that has been quite interesting to watch thus far.

After “Rachael Zoe Project” was nothing between 8 pm through 10 pm as it was primarily reruns. No new episodes of “90210” or “Privileged” on the CW. So, made some quick calls.

At 10:00 pm, I was stoked to see “Eli Stone” on ABC back again. For those not familiar with the show, “Eli Stone” is about a lawyer named Eli who last season, was suffering from a brain tumor. The tumor has been producing these dreamlike situations such as seeing George Michael or seeing performances but most of all, a foresight into the near future which he can correct.

If anything, the tumor has brought life into Eli as he has been saving lives (thanks to these visions) and even changed his law firm around to doing pro bono work (free work) for clients that are in need. The last episode in the season features Elli Stone having the tumor removed.

The second season starts off with Eli as he returns to being the man he once was. A lawyer who has yet to receive permission to get back into the courtroom. He talks to a psychiatrist (played by Sigourney Weaver) who gives him permission to go back to work after months of meetings.

The interesting thing is that people around Eli seem to enjoy the man when he did have the tumor because he was full of life and saved many lives. But this time around, his brother is now having these visions. Does his brother have a brain tumor?

In the vision, a crane falls through a bank killing many people. At this bank, is Eli’s boss who was there at a meeting. And according to his brother’s vision, his boss is still alive but is trapped in the stairwell. The search and rescue is happening in another part of the building but how does he convince the emergency workers to search in a different area and thus leading to a confrontation with his ex-fiance (the bosses daughter) and a fight in court as Eli tries to get a judge to make the emergency workers look for survivors in another area.

Without spoiling too much, there are some revelations and some sacrifice. And an excellent start for the second season!

And definitely look forward to the next episode which stars Katie Homes.
