“The View” has been called one of the best reality shows on television. Now viewers and fans again have the chance to witness first-hand the backstage drama that unfolds each weekday morning leading up to show time. On MONDAY, MAY 24 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET), “The View” producers and staff take viewers on an exciting behind-the-scenes journey, from inception to execution, outlining how the upcoming Friday, May 21 show was produced. The show will feature celebrity guest co-host Mario Cantone (“Sex and the City 2”), Michael Douglas (“Solitary Man”), music from Broadway’s “Million Dollar Quartet,” and “‘The View: Fashion Friday” showcasing designer Christian Siriano (“Project Runway”).
Highlights include the co-hosts’ early morning arrivals, hair and makeup sessions, guest briefings, music rehearsals, pre-interviews with producers, selection of video clips, the “Hot Topics” meeting, control room craziness, the co-hosts’ private green room, audience arrivals and warm-up, wardrobe selection, the green room, meetings, lighting, blocking, set decorating and tapping into the producers’ headsets. “The View” features Daytime Emmy Award-winning hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd.
