Hawthorne, CA native Amber Russell is an ovarian cancer survivor and mother of two. She has a long-term relationship with boyfriend Adrian, and together they face the challenge of raising her children with two full-time careers on opposite schedules – she works days and he works nights. After her cancer diagnosis in 1999, the sobering reality of her illness and her own mortality caused Amber to turn to food for comfort. As her life started to spiral out of control, she lost control of her home as it filled with clutter, and of her financial stability, which ultimately led to her house going into foreclosure. Amber is now determined to regain control of her life and finish the education she had started, gain control of her finances and make healthy choices for herself and her family.
