“THE BOOK OF MORMON” TO PERFORM LIVE ON “THE 66TH ANNUAL TONY® AWARDS”, HOSTED BY NEIL PATRICK HARRIS, FROM THE BEACON THEATER IN NEW YORK, SUNDAY, JUNE 10 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

The 2011 Tony Award-winning Best Musical “The Book of Mormon” will perform live on THE 66TH ANNUAL TONY(R) AWARDS, from the Beacon Theatre, Sunday, June 10 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET; delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.  The awards show will feature more performances than ever before, including the 2012 Tony-nominated Best Musicals “Newsies,” “Nice Work If You Can Get It,” “Once,” “Evita,” “Follies,” “The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Leap of Faith.”

In addition, the show will include Best Play nominees “End of the Rainbow,” “One Man, Two Guvnors” and “Peter and the Starcatcher,” as well as performances by the casts of “Ghost the Musical” and “Godspell,” featuring Corbin Bleu.

Hosted by Emmy Award-winner Neil Patrick Harris, the evening will feature appearances by Ellen Barkin, Candice Bergen, Matthew Broderick, Jessica Chastain, Sheryl Crow, Nick Jonas, Angela Lansbury, Ricky Martin, James Marsden, Jim Parsons, Mandy Patinkin, Tyler Perry, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Bernadette Peters, Christopher Plummer, Paul Rudd, Amanda Seyfried and Ben Vereen, among others.

This year marks the 66th anniversary of the TONY Awards, which were first held on April 6, 1947, at the Waldorf Astoria’s Grand Ballroom. The American Theatre Wing’s TONY Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The Tonys were founded in memorial to Antoinette (“Tony”) Perry, the American Theatre Wing’s World War II chairperson.

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment will return as executive producers.  Weiss will also serve as director for the 13th consecutive year.  In 2010, Kirshner and Weiss, along with host Neil Patrick Harris, earned an Emmy Award on behalf of THE 63RD ANNUAL TONY AWARDS in the category of Outstanding Special Class Program.
