DVD REVIEW:

I really tried to enjoy this movie.  I figured, so many talented stars…this movie must be good but somehow the chemistry between the three didn’t seem right.  Also, to hear Dustin Hoffman star screaming with fear was hard to fathom.  Not sure why.

This is by means NOT an action film.  Not like ALIENS.  In fact, it’s more about your dreams becoming real and everyone around you experiences what you dream (may it be good or bad).

If there was anything that I enjoyed was hearing Dustin Hoffman say in the director’s commentary that since he’s a professional actor, to be part of a sci-fi, he will not do it again.  “How can an actor do 35 takes for one scene” was something Hoffman couldn’t understand but developed a respect for actors who do these type of movies.  The documentary of the “shaping of the sphere” was pretty neat.  To know how they built everything was pretty cool.  Then there are trailers and as mentioned, the commentary with Hoffman and Jackson.

All in all, I didn’t like the movie that much.  If you are a sci-fi fan, you might want to rent it first.
