Selena Gomez & The Scene – Falling Down (a J!-ENT World Groove Digital Single Review)

“For Selena Gomez & The Scene’s first single ‘Falling Down’, the Disney star is the next to branch out as a major music artist.  Overall, the debut is good but I definitely want to see what more Gomez can give vocally for the next single.”

  1. Falling Down

Actress/singer Selena Gomez (Disney Channel star of “Wizards of Waverly Place”) has been singing for quite awhile but the actress had wanted to separate her music from the actress and thus her first major single as Selena Gomez and The Scene with the song “Falling Down”.

Written by Ted Bruner, Trey Vittetoe and Go-Go’s member Gina Schock, Gomez has said the song is about ridiculing Hollywood and the fame.

“Falling Down” is a rock track and definitely up there with a lot of the other Disney starlets turned music stars.  A catchy track but I definitely want to hear more of Selena Gomez’s vocals being tested a bit more.  As her best friend Demi Lovato did with the release of “Here We Go Again” which definitely earned props and got her in the top 10 of the Billboard Charts, what I enjoyed about that release was that Lovato’s song didn’t make you think that this was a Disney star, her music showcased her talent.

With “Falling Down”, it’s typical Disney music fare that is fun and catchy and definitely will be enjoyed by her fans but for the masses, I would love to hear an upcoming single that showcases her vocals even more.

But for the most part, the single is fun and catchy and nevertheless, Selena Gomez & The Scene had a good debut with “Falling Down”.  I look forward to the next.
