The fourth single from the Japanese  female idol group Paradise Go!!Go!!  The single is used as a theme for the Japanese animated release of “ZOIDS” and fans of the group may want the CD+DVD version as the DVD does showcase the addition of the two newest members Risa and Rika.  An average at best CD single.

The Japanese record label avex trax has been known for creating female idol groups and one of the groups that was born in 2004 was Paradise Go!!Go!! (aka Parago). The group consists of seven teenage girls who were members of the CALESS school of music and dance.

Similar to the popular female idol group Morning Musume, Paradise Go!!Go!! would also feature members who would graduate and a new member would join the group. In this case, with their fourth CD single “Real Love”, the group would add new members Rika and Risa, who would join Misaki, Kiyomi, Natalie, Junko and Ayaka.

The single would be used for the Japanese animated release for “ZOIDS” and would come with another pop track titled “WIND SONG” and the final two tracks would be the instrumental versions of both vocal tracks.
Overall, “Real Love” is a good single. There’s nothing that made me want to listen to it again and again but for the most part, both tracks are good but doesn’t offer anything new to the idol pop genre. So, it depends on the listener and if one is a fan of Paradise Go!!Go!! or not.

As for the DVD, the DVD features the girls performing and dancing to the song. Possibly the more entertaining part of the DVD is the off shot which interviews the new members Risa and Rika and the other members of the group as they transfer by train to their filming location. And also the making of the music video, as the girls try to cool off in the hot and humid weather and the second part featuring the CD single photoshoot. Overall, a fun video showcasing the girls and for fans wanting to know more about the members of the group.

The CD insert features the lyrics and production credits.

Overall, “Real Love” is a decent single. I know I’m about five years late into reviewing their material, especially not knowing the status of the group (note: A lot of avex trax female idol groups were dropped by the label in 2007), especailly since avex still maintains their official website (althoug not updated since 2006).

I’ve listened to a lot of female idol pop for decades now and Parago’s fourth single has two tracks that are good but are they tracks that make me want to listen to them over and over again? Not for me. But for those who are dedicated fans of Parago, the single would probably win them over the most and if you are a fan, you would definitely want to go for the CD+DVD version.
