The Nickelodeon Favorites: Food with Friends! DVD will focus on a variety of foods and the way we enjoy them! Join Dora as she makes a special cake for Mother’s Day or visit with Kai-lan and watch Ye-Ye make soup dumplings for the Chinese New Year Party! You can also learn where and how food grows with Diego and Blue.

In this special Nickelodeon DVD release, the theme for the latest Nickelodeon Favorites is all about having “Food with Friends!”

In this new DVD, you get a total of six of the popular Nickelodeon children’s educational shows (Dora the Explorer”, “Go, Diego, Go!”, “Blue’s Clues”, “Wonder Pets!”, “Yo Gabba Gabba!” and “Ni Hao, Kai-Lan”) on this special DVD.

As children grow to learn how to enjoy various new foods and also help learn about new foods, this latest DVD helps children learn about various fruits and vegetables, while helping characters find these fruits and vegetables but also how exciting it is to try new foods.

In this DVD, children can learn Spanish and Chinese language skills, math skills, problem-solving skills, the importance of team work and more!

Included on this DVD are:

  • Dora the Explorer – In “El Dia de las Madres”, it’s Mother’s Day and Dora and Papi are making Maki a cake.  Help Dora gather ingredients and help Boots, Benny, Tico and Isa prepare for Mother’s Day.
  • Go, Diego, Go! – In “Green Iguana Helps Abuelito Plant a New Strawberry Farm”, a wind blows away Abuelito’s strawberries, help Diego and Alicia along with the Bobo Brothers save the farm.
  • Wonder Pets! – In “Save the Squirrel”, the WonderPets shrink to bee size in order to help a honeybee find her first collection of nectar.
  • Blue’s Clues – In “The Grow Show”, help Steve figure out how fruits and vegetables grow.
  • Yo Gabba Gabba!– You’re invited toa party in your tummy.  Todde learns that giving new foods a try can be yummy.
  • Ni Hao, Kai-Lan – In “Happy Chinese New Year”, Kai-lan and friends are old enough to carry the dragon costume and learn the importance of working as a team.

VIDEO & AUDIO:

The episodes featured in “Nickelodeon Favorites: Food with Friends!” are presented in full screen and in Dolby Digital stereo. Animation features vibrant colors and dialogue is clear and understandable. Picture quality is dependent on the series as “Dora the Explorer”, “Go, Diego, Go!” and “Ni Hao, Kai-Lan” are animation-based, “Blue’s Clues” and “Wonder Pets!” tend to combine CG, while “Yo Gabba Gabba” is live with some skits that are animated.

But overall, this is for the children and the picture and audio quality should be satisfactory.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

“Nickelodeon Favorites: Food with Friends!” comes with the following special features:

  • Team Umizoomi Music Videos: Numbers Supermarket Song – (:55) Team Umizoomi singing “Numbers Everywhere”.
  • Team Umizoomi Music Videos: I Love Milk Song – (1:35) Team Umizoomi singing “Acorn Flower Patterns”.
  • Previews – Previews for upcoming Nickelodeon DVD release

As any parent, grandparent and guardian have experienced a child who discovers food for the first time, some who are unwilling to try new foods and those discovering how fruits and vegetables can be grown.  But for the child, new foods can often steer young (and even older) children away.

Fortunately, with “Nickelodeon Favorites: Food with Friends!”, children can learn about fruits, vegetables, trying new foods but also other educational tools that can help a child learn a few words in Spanish and Chinese.  But also help them learn how to solve problems, how working as a team is good and more!

And probably the most exciting aspect of this DVD is the fact that you do get six TV shows and with school about to end very soon, your probably going to want to have some children’s DVDs around that are educational and fun.

Included on this DVD is “Dora the Explorer”, “Go, Diego, Go!”, “Blue’s Clues”, “Wonder Pets!”, “Yo Gabba Gabba” and “Ni Hao, Kai-Lan” and for the most part, this is a pretty cool DVD for a children sold for a very low price and as there are different episodes of different shows on one DVD and not only does it work great as an educational DVD to keep children’s busy but also for those long commutes, these shows are very helpful in the development for children.

My child was raised from these educational children’s shows and I do believe that it helped in his development as he is doing exceptionally well at school, especially when it comes to decision making and also an appreciation for other cultures and languages.

While Nickelodeon children’s DVD’s tend to not have special features, fortunately with “Food with Friends!”, he DVD includes short music videos featuring Team Umizoomi.

For the most part, your young children should be entertained by this release. All episodes are safe for children and parents will also be happy to know that they can learn from each of these episodes. Granted, this DVD is not going to relieve any anxiety of a child eating new foods and trying something different but at least it may help some.  But most importantly, it’s the educational benefits of watching these shows that will help the young children.

Overall, Nickelodeon’s “Nickelodeon Favorites: Food with Friends!” is a fun-tastic, educational DVD for the children!
