On TUESDAY, MAY 29, First Lady Michelle Obama sits down with “The View” hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd to discuss her new book, American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America, and her message that having access to healthy, affordable food can promote better eating habits.
Mrs. Obama will also discuss the history of the White House garden, some of the recipes in the book, and tips for starting your own garden no matter where you live. The First Lady’s appearance on “The View” is part of the show’s continuing “Red, White & View” campaign highlighting interviews and informational segments that promotes civic responsibility. Mrs. Obama previously appeared on “The View” in April and June, 2011. “Good Morning America” and “The View” are Mrs. Obama’s first TV interviews regarding her new book.

Charlize Theron (“Snow White and the Huntsman”), former professional wrestler Stacy Keibler, WABC-TV meteorologist Bill Evans (author, It’s Raining Fish and Spider), country music superstar Joe Nichols and his wife, Heather, and musical performances from Rebecca Ferguson, Joe Nichols and the Tony® nominated Broadway cast of “Nice Work If You Can Get It,” featuring Matthew Broderick, are featured MAY 28 — JUNE 1 (live weekdays; 11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET; broadcast live in stereo; CLOSED-CAPTIONED; TV-14).
