life in plastic: LEGO – Marvel Super Heroes – Rocket Racoon (Toys R Us Exclusive) Review

legoreviews

Since it’s the holiday season, parents and AFOL will automatically get a minifigure if they request for it during their Christmas shopping. While I can see others purchasing several or an extra, as they are $4.99 per bag. But overall, if you are a fan of Guardians of the Galaxy or a LEGO collector in general, I definitely recommend the Marvel Super Heroes – Rocket Racoon (Toys R Us Exclusive)!

THE REVIEW:

When it was announced on various LEGO blogs that the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes – Rocket Racoon (Toys R Us Exclusive) were out, many would purchase the polybag of Rocket Racoon in hopes to make some money.  As not everyone has access to a Toys R Us, eBay was the only option to get your hands on a Rocket Racoon (albeit at an inflated price).

Not wanting to spend the $11-15, I traveled to the nearest Toys R Us (which is about an hour away) and found out that at our two stores, the Rocket Racoon polygbag is kept at guest services and will be given out as a promotional if you purchase a LEGO set for $30 or more.  And if you want to purchase a polybag, it would cost $4.99.

Nevertheless, it was a great deal and although I try to stay towards LEGO minifigurines based on humans, it was a deal that I couldn’t pass up!

Upon opening the polybag, you will find 12 pieces (packaging shows 13 LEGO pieces but looking at various posts, most people had 12 pieces) and a sticker sheet.

Once you assemble Rocket Racoon, you are drawn by the detail.  The character is incredibly detailed from its head, its tail and the printing clothing on both sides.  Rocket Racoon also comes with a pretty cool weapon, his pot with Groot and more.

I like the actual color combinations with this Rocket Racoon with the maroon colors as opposed to the orange version which came with the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Knowhere Escape Mission.

But I have been nothing but enjoying this minifigure because of its detail but it’s Rocket Racoon and who knows how many LEGO will make (until a sequel is made, I suppose).

Overall,  I think that most LEGO fans, especially AFOL will enjoy this minifigure.  For its awesome detail with its clothing, head and tail sculpt, better color combinations and cool weaponry/accessories, it’s a very cool looking LEGO figure!
