THE REVIEW:
In my review of the LEGO CITY – Grand Prix Truck (60026), I discussed how I am a big fan of the Octan LEGO sets.
And sure enough, sold at retail is the inexpensive LEGO Race Car. At 100 pieces, you get the #1 race car with all of its red, white and black Octan glory with its driver hoisting a trophy cup.
The car took me less than half an hour to build and if you thought the #5 race car which came with the Grand Prix Truck was cool, the #1 race car with its moveable spoiler is even cooler. Granted, different race cars for different races but this race car is one you want for your LEGO Octan Racing collection.
When compared to the #5 race car which is cool and sporty, I love how this #1 race car is full of colors and has the black wheels which make its debut with this set! The spoiler can be easily adjusted and to put your character in the vehicle, the top comes off easily.
Great car to have in your LEGO Octan Racing setups. I can imagine these two race car teammates jabbering each other with “My car is faster than your car” discussions.
There is one way to answer this question and that is to race! Which one do you think will win in a race against each other…#5 or #1?
But I love the fact that LEGO is making more Octan Racing cars! An I can only hope more are being planned and eventually developed and released for retail!
Once you are all done with building your race car, you get quite a few extra parts including an extra visor for the helmet. But that’s 12 extra parts to use as backup or for other LEGO sets, which is a plus!
Overall, the LEGO CITY – Race Car (60053) is a sleek, awesome Octan race car! The #5 race car which came with the LEGO CITY: Grand Prix Truck was cool, but the overall look of this #1 race car is really awesome! And I love the fact that the LEGO minifigurine can hoist that trophy cup to show who is champ!
And the new racing wheels that are featured with this race car is fantastic!
