DVD REVIEW:

I must admit that when I first saw M:I-2, I thought it was a good movie but not so great that people hyped it up to be.  I just watched it and then said to myself, “Can’t wait for X-Men!”

I think I felt this way because the first had action but had more dialogue and made you think.  This one was typical Woo…so much action jam packed into the film.  I guess if you were expecting to use your wit and expect more dialogue and character development, then you would feel that something was missing and that’s how I felt.

Well, since watching the DVD, what can I say…I appreciate the movie even more.  Why is that?  Well, after watching the special features which include “Behind the Mission” and “Mission Incredible” stunts featurettes, I never knew how much Tom Cruise had to do for this movie.  Every stunt scene, he didn’t want to use a stunt double, he wanted to do everything himself…many times until he got it right.  Now that’s a dedicated actor.  For me, the fact that Cruise did nearly every hardcore stunt makes me appreciate the person as an actor and thus appreciate the effort put into M:I-2.

Now as for the DVD features, there are numerous features.  My favorite is the “Mission Improbable” starring Ben Stiller that was used for the MTV Movie Awards.  That was awesome!  Also, it was awesome to see the Metallica music video and comedy from the Woo.

As for picture and audio. With the first movie, I was really angry about how the sound quality was not too par with other action films.  This time with the second movie, the audio is awesome!  Even the video transfer is awesome!
