[METRO MEDIA COMPLEX] Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) and Feist “1 2 3 4”

Last on MMC:

October 2007 marks the highly anticipated, long awaited release of the Apple’s operating system (10.5 aka Leopard) for the Mac and also, what has delayed me from upgrading to the latest Mac’s.

Looking at the Apple site, I love the “quick look” feature that definitely would make things much more convenient for me since I deal with so many project files per month.

Although, I’m quite meticulous about backing up my data (I know, the E-100 and IBM ThinkPad problem and losing all my industry contacts was the biggest loss…but when your backup machine goes brick, what can you do?), I really like that Apple is bringing the “Time-Machine” feature for those who have been susceptible to backup problems.

I realize I need to upgrade my Mac and I’m so grateful for my G4 733 mhz for lasting so long, hardly any crashes and a durable machine. It’s been a workhorse but it’s time to upgrade and as mentioned, I have been going back and forth deciding on which Mac product to go for.

Currently comparing prices between macmall.com and Apple have their MacBook Pro’s and Mac Pro machines are currently going for. My main thing for going Mac Pro is because I like the expandability but for MacBook Pro’s I like the portability.

It’s a difficult decision that comes to power and upgradeability or the ease of convenience of portability. Although I do have two PC laptops, most of my software that I purchased is for the Mac.

A difficult choice but I’m getting very stoked for the release of Leopard and getting a new Mac.

Also, thinking if I need to update my Adobe products to CS3. I tend to upgrade every other year but I need to upgrade my Dreamweaver and Flash (my last purchase was regular MX).

Btw, for those who purchased a MacBook or an Apple computer product for the first time, the OS are released once a year or in the case of the last 10.4, it has been quite awhile since 10.5. But do you need to upgrade? The answer is no.

One thing you will notice is if you upgrade immediately, some of your software will not work and it will require you to download upgrades for certain software. But since this is a new OS for the new Intel-based computers and Apple knows that many people are using their products (and have switched from a PC), I’m hoping third party have had a chance to develop patches or upgrades for their software to work with the new OS.

For me, the main upgrades typically relate to Adobe products and software revolving around fonts or plug-ins for Photoshop. And of course for Toast.

We’ll see how things go with the new release of Leopard.

Ever since I have heard this song on the iPod commercial, I’ve fallen in love to Feist’s “1234”.

My daily perusing of Perez Hilton’s website and the call is to dethrone Britney Spears from that 1 position on iTunes.

I’m all for that and I’m all for Feist.
