There are times when you can find a very awesome LEGO set for under $10.
And for Spring 2015, one of those awesome LEGO sets is the “LEGO CITY – Demolition Starter Set (60072)” which features four LEGO minifigures (a foreman, driver and construction workers which include a male and female), a front loader tractor, toilet with pipes and a few tools which include a sledgehammer, jackhammer and a megaphone plus two warning cones.
All this can be completed in a half an hour.
Before we begin, let’s take a look at the minifigures:
Typically for a set that is $9.99, you are going to see two minifigures. But for this Demolition Starter Set, you get four!
All figures have printed torsos and each comes with a helmet, while the female character has her helmet and hair connected and the other demolition worker with head phones.
I have to give LEGO big kudos for the inclusion of a female demolition minifigure. While there are female characters, you usually find them in big sets or are often the damsel in distress, the rebel or the thief in LEGO City sets. So, it’s good to feature the female minifigure in the demolition starter set.
Everyone minifigure is smiling in this set, except the driver, who has a smirk and beads of sweat coming down.
As for the vehicles, the front loader tractor is pretty cool As a smaller tractor, the loader can swivel up and down and set the tractor up to lift particles from the ground. It’s a simple build but works very well.
Of course, I also enjoy this inexpensive playset for the addition of the front loader but you also get a bathroom set with pipes bursting.
In addition, you get a few power tools as well with but the overall playset is quite interesting and a great addition for those who need to build a toilet and it’s cool that you get extra parts included.
The “LEGO CITY – Demolition Starter Set” has been one of the best under $10 LEGO sets that I have reviewed.
Not only do you get a vehicle, a playset, extra parts but also tools! But one of the biggest and major plus is the inclusion of four LEGO minifigures.
Parents can’t go wrong with this set for their children and for the young at heart, along with the vehicles and playset, you also get four characters and powertools, which is a major plus!
With many LEGO City minifigures in sets focusing on law, repair or other areas. It’s great to have a set that focuses on those who do repairs or demolishing.
Overall, “LEGO CITY – Demolition Starer Set” gets five stars for its price, playability, accessories but it’s also more bang for your buck! Recommended!
