From LEGO builder, Jeff Friesen comes a book from No Starch Press (who are not authorized or endorsed by the LEGO Group) featuring building instructions on how to build ten mini metropolis.

The book is written for those who have some experience building LEGO but also those who have access to buying bricks (information on how to buy bricks are featured in the book).

From creating a Base camp, Gilded city, Upper brick side, Bridge town, Steamworks, Hyperloop city, Tomorrowland, Utopia, Strange New Worlds and the Finishing Touch.

The how-to-guidebook shows you how to create them but most importantly the bricks you need and how many you will need to build each mini metropolis.

For the most part, you get a good number of mini metropolis that range from easy to some which are complex, such as “Utopia” and “StrangeNew Worlds”.

I found this book also wonderful in the fact that there are cool looking mini metropolis but also “Finishing Touch” which shows one how to add details such as a train bridge, tree, etc.

I do not recommend this book for novice LEGO builders, but I do recommend it for serious builders who are willing to invest in the many pieces that will be needed to create these mini metropolis.

For the how-to-guide, similar to LEGO guidebooks that come with sets, they are easy to follow and for the most part, those with experience and patience will be able to build these mini metropolis but some may want to follow the directions, while others may want to be creative and use different color pieces that would suit their taste.

Overall, Jeff Friesen’s “LEGO MICRO CITIES: Build Your Own Mini Metropolis” is another awesome No Starch Press LEGO how-to-book that I recommend!
