“Laid in America” is a tame sexy comedy starring YouTube stars KSI (Olajide Olatunji) and Caspar Lee. This comedy is crazy, unpredictable and so much fun! And if you happen to follow a lot of YouTube talents, you can definitely spot quite a number of cameos by other YouTube stars in this film as well. If you’re in a mood for a crazy comedy that will no doubt make you laugh, “Laid in America” is a film worth checking out!

YouTube superstar KSI makes his feature film debut alongside Caspar Lee in this laugh-out-loud, chaotic comedy. Duncan (KSI) and Jack (Caspar Lee) are exchange students with just one night left in the United States – and one final chance to lose their virginity with the girls of their dreams (something they really, really want to do). To have a shotat doing that, though, they need to get invited to the class bully’s house-party that night…and, sadly for them, they aren’t. The two friends hatch an elaborate and desperate bid to get in, which takes them on an unexpected adventure, navigating a minefield of problems from gun-wielding gangsters, to deviant drug lords. The boys must work together to fulfil their fantasies in time to catch their flights home. With an all-star cast, including Josh Leyva, Bobby Lee, Madison Iseman, and Deji Olatunji, this is an outrageous and hilarious story of two boys…becoming men.

The film stars English YouTube star KSI (Olajide Olatunji), South America YouTube star Caspar Lee (“Joe & Caspar: Hit the Road”), Bobby Lee (“MADtv”, “Paul”, “Pineapple Express”), Angela Trimbur (“The Final Girls”, “Californication”), Madison Iseman (“Still the King”, “Jumanji”), Angela Kinsey (“The Office”, “License to Work”, “Furry Vengeance”) and Josh Leyva (“Dirty 30”, “Saving Lives”).
The film revolves around two foreign exchange students, Duncan (portrayed by KSI/Olajide Olatunji) and Jack (portrayed by Caspar Lee) who are about to complete school in America. Before they go back home, the two hope they can get laid.
There only hopes are by going to a party hosted by the popular jock Tucker (portrayed by Josh Leyva), but Tucker tells them that they can go to his party only if Duncan and Jack can bring two girls who do not attend their school.
So, the two decide to go on the dating site Grindr and lie about their profile, as KSI says he is the owner of an oil company and Jack makes video games.
When both meet a woman named Amber (portrayed by Angela Trimbur), she drugs them and the two are held prisoner by drug dealer Goose (portrayed by Bobby Lee).
Will Duncan and Jack ever find a way to go to the party?

“Laid in America” is presented in 1080p High Definition (2:44:1 aspect ratio). The film looks very good in HD as closeups show very good detail, lighting for the film, especially indoor, is very good. I didn’t notice any banding, artifacts or any negative issues during my viewing of the film.

“Laid in America” is presented in English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. While the film is primarily dialogue and music driven, there is use of surround channels during crowd-based scenes but for the most part, dialogue and music are both crystal clear.
Subtitles are in English SDH and French.

- The Making of Laid in America Documentary – (58:24) Behind-the-scenes of the making of “Laid in America” hosted by KSI and Caspar Lee who take the audience through the process of making of “Laid in America” each day.
With a title like “Laid in America” and the fact that it stars several YouTube talents, the first few minutes into the film, you realize it’s a crazy comedy in the vain of films such as teen comedies such as “American Pie”.
You have two foreign exchange students who desire to get laid before they return back home. You have a principal who spouts nothing but profanity. You have a teacher that encourages a student talking about sex during class and you have an egotistical jock who talks about his sex conquests over the high school’s intercom.
Suffice to say, the film is farfetched but this film is more about the comedy and how far filmmakers/writers Sam Milman and Peter Vass will go in their storyline.  And I have to say, the crazy situations that happen in this film made me laugh.
First, the positive. For the first major film for YouTube star KSI (Olajide Olatunji) and with fellow YouTuber Caspar Lee, the two are an unlikely pair but they manage to make things work perfectly and their chemistry has that odd couple feel but works. So effective that I wouldn’t mind seeing a return of Duncan and Jack, if there is another film.
As for the film and their characters, with the circumstance of these two being foreign exchange students and wanting to get laid before they go home. They are quite driven and determined in trying to make things happen.
So, because the two are naive and are trying to find a way to go to a party in hopes they can get laid, they need to find hot girls to bring to the party, who do not attend the same high school.
Duncan and Jack decide to find girls through a dating site known as Grindr and when they meet Amber (portrayed by YouTube comedian Angela Trimbur), hoping they meet her and a friend, she ends up drugging them and she and her boyfriend, drug dealer Goose (portrayed by Bobby Lee) end up holding the two captive.
And this situation would end up leading Duncan and Jack through a lot of crazy adventures. Another positive is that many people will see cameos by YouTubers such as Tay Zonday, Timothy DeLaGhetto, Alexa Losey, Taryn Southern, Syd Wilder and Bart Baker.
With that being said, for those expecting an “American Pie” type of film with a lot of sex, “Laid in America” is much tamer. But there are more than enough hilarious moments that will make people laugh.
For those wanting something deeper or meaningful, then you may want to pass. “Laid in America” is crazy, stupid comedy for those who want to laugh and pass the time, but also happen to be fans of these YouTube stars.
And to give this film some credit, I have watched quite a few films starring YouTube stars and “Laid in America” is probably one if not the better comedies starring YouTube stars that I have seen. And it helps that the film is not predictable and if anything, you’re in for a wild and crazy ride with this comedy, so I have to give co-directors and co-writers Sam Millman and Peter Vass some props for making this film entertaining.
