Jonas Brothers – Paranoid (a J!-ENT Digital Single Review)

“The Jonas Brothers release a more mature CD single.  Overall, the music production continually gets better with each release and this single gives fans a taste of their upcoming album ‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times'”.

BAND: Jonas Brothers

SINGLE: Paranoid

LABEL: Hollywood Records

DURATION: 3:38

RELEASE DATE: May 12, 2009

  1. Paranoid

The American pop rock trio known as the Jonas Brothers return with their tenth single from their fourth studio album “Lines, Vines and Trying Times” (worldwide release is set for June 16, 2009) and produced by John Fields.

The latest single is actually quite solid and I really dig the guitar playing and overall vocals for the song.  Also, the lyrics are simple, emotional feelings that one can feel in a relationship.

That feeling of paranoia are emotions that people can related to but I will say that after listening to the track, I was quite curious if there was a hidden meaning to a certain someone in the lyrics:

That’s why my ex is still my ex
I never trust a word she says
I’m running all the background checks
Shes freaking out

I have to give the band some credit as the production quality of their music continually gets better and one can say that “Paranoid” is much more of a mature song for the band but the lyrics are enough to reach out to their younger fans.

It’s important to note that there are two versions of this song.  The normal digital release version but also a Radio Disney edit version which has “I’m taking all the doctors meds” replaced with “Can’t hear the thoughts inside my head”.

With the direction of “Paranoid” going in a positive direction, I definitely am curious to hear how the remaining tracks for “Lines, Vines and Trying Times” turns out.

Overall, a solid digital single from the Jonas Brothers.
