LOS ANGELES – Oct. 20, 2010 – It’s a girl! Reality star Melissa Rycroft (“The Bachelor”) announced the sex of her baby exclusively on THE TALK during the new daily daytime talk show’s broadcast today on the CBS Television Network.
During the interview with hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert and Leah Remini, the three women each guessed the sex of the baby, giving Rycroft gifts themed in either blue or pink. After the presents were exchanged, Rycroft held up the two pink gifts, a blanket and a bathrobe given to her from Gilbert and Remini, respectively, and said, “Of the gifts in my lap, I think I am going to take home the pink!”
After the crowd erupted in applause, Chen exclaimed, “We wish you all the luck in the world. Â Congratulations!”
THE TALK’s premiere week guest line-up also includes actress Chandra Wilson on Thursday and actress Jamie Lee Curtis, “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Rick Fox and professional dancer Cheryl Burke on Friday.
THE TALK, CBS’s new daily daytime talk show that examines topical events and contemporary issues through the eyes of six female hosts who are all mothers, airs weekdays 2:00-3:00 PM, ET / 1:00-2:00 PM, PT. THE TALK is hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokur. Brad Bessey, Gilbert, who developed the show, and John Redmann are executive producers.
