Siblings Tony (Mario Lopez) and Magdalena (Aimee Garcia) run a family-owned business that makes holiday décor, inspired by Mexican Christmas traditions. An executive (Emeraude Toubia) at a large greeting card chain, sees an opportunity to acquire them.

If there is one thing that I have complimented Lifetime Television is for showcasing diversity.  It was one thing to feature interracial couples, but they started to showcase storylines with African-American, Latino and Asian families.

And I felt that Mario Lopez’ “Feliz NAVIDAD” was a wonderful holiday telefilm.

Lopez makes his return, not just as an actor but also as a producer for the 2021 holiday telefilm “Holiday in Santa Fe” directed by Jody Margolin hahn (“Mr. Iglesias”, “The Conners”, “The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia”) and written by Cristera Alonzo (“Cristela”, “The Upshaws”).

The film stars Mario Lopez (“Saved by the Bell”), Emeraude Troubia (“Shadowhunters”, “With Love”), Aimee Garcia (“Dexter”, “Trauma”, “Lucifer”), Gia Lopez (“Jane the Virgin”, “Wal the Prank”), Efrain Figueroa (“Drug Wars: The Cocaine Cartel”, “Modern Family”), Hank Chen (“Life-Size 2”, “Lemon”, “Home Again”) and more.

The film revolves around the Ortega family.  The family has a popular holiday decor business in Santa Fe which is inspired by Mexican Christmas traditions and they want to do something special with the business since the family matriarch passed.  And with Tony (portrayed by Mario Lopez) focusing on the business end of things, while Magdalena (portrayed by Aimee Garcia) focusing on the design end of things, they hope they can make the business as popular as their mother had done with the business.

Meanwhile, Belinda Sawyer (portrayed by Emeraude Toubia)  is an executive for a large greeting card chain who is sent to acquire the Ortega family business.

Tony agrees to meet with Belinda in hopes they can convince her to keep the business but invest in it.  While Belinda is interested in acquiring it.  But will her time in Santa Fe and spending time with Tony and family and seeing what goes into the business make her want to help them keep it?

Once again, “Holiday in Santa Fe” is wonderful film that showcases Mexican Christmas traditions but also features an entertaining family storyline produced and starring Mario Lopez.

The chemistry between Lopez and Emeraude Troubia is mucho caliente!

But most importantly, love the family dynamic with Aimee Garcia as the stressed out designer sister Aimee, Frankie Ortega as Gia as her daughter who is interested in dancing and the patriarch of the family, Jose Ortega (portrayed by Jose Ortega).  And Hank Chen plays the role of Kevin, Belinda Sawyer’s close contact and the person she talks to about business and life.

A wonderful family holiday telefilm from Lifetime!
