It’s that time of the year and Halloween is just around the corner. And what best to celebrate Halloween and educate them your young children at the same time, but to show them “Dora’s Halloween Parade”, a collection of four “Dora the Explorer” Halloween episodes.
In this DVD, children can learn Spanish language skills, math skills and new songs and the importance of having friends plus other learning and problem-solving skills.
Included on this DVD are:
- Halloween Parade – All of Dora’s friends have their costumes except Little Monster. Help him find a costume!
- Boo! – On Halloween, Dora and Boots discover a trick-or-treater who doesn’t need a costume – Little Monster! Help bring him home to the Monster House before the clock strikes 12.
- The Backpack Parade – Everyone’s packing their backpacks for the Backpack parade, but Backpack needs a song to sing to start the parade. Can you help her?

“Dora the Explorer – Dora’s Halloween Parade” is presented in full screen and in Dolby Digital stereo. Animation features vibrant colors and dialogue is clear and understandable. Picture quality is good as these are newer episodes.
But overall, this is for the children and the picture and audio quality is colorful and vibrant. Some CG is utilized for the backgrounds and for the most part, picture quality is very good.

“Dora the Explorer – Dora’s Halloween Parade” is a fun release for children and also parents who want to find DVD’s that can be educational for children. The theme for “Dora’s Halloween Parade” DVD is Halloween (two episodes) but the rest revolves around parades and music. So, it’s a fun, upbeat DVD compilation of episodes.
My young son literally grew up in his young toddler years watching Dora and through this series, it was very helpful in helping him develop skills on decision making and also learning a little Spanish.
In this DVD series, children can learn Spanish Language skills and also math skills but also for children to learn decision making during the multiple adventures that Dora takes part in. Also, there are new songs for your children to learn and sing and also learning about the importance of friends plus other learning and problem solving skills that the popular children show is known for.
I’ve been critical in the past of Nickelodeon children DVD’s not having any special features and while it looked like the last two “Dora the Explorer” DVD’s were pretty cool with special features and extras included, this DVD release has none. Just previews. I always hope that Nickelodeon will consider adding more special features but I will say that in the past, the episodes would have three episodes and the fourth episode as a bonus feature, this DVD release has four episodes total.
Despite the fact that there are no special features, the DVD is still offered for a pretty low price and for the most part, your young children should be entertained by this release. All episodes are safe for children and parents will also be happy to know that their children will definitely learn from these episodes of “Dora the Explorer”.
Overall, if you are looking to introduce Halloween to your little ones and also educate them at the same time, definitely give “Dora’s Halloween Parade” a try!
