Emma must convince her first love Tyler, now a famous pop-star, to sign with her record company, while also trying to save the town’s Christmas Caroling Celebration.

We are now halfway through the holiday telefilm marathon and for the 25th film, we check out “Christmas Is You” which aired on Great American Family.

The film is directed by Allan Harmon (“If I Had Wings”, “R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour”) and written by Jenna Thompson.

The film stars Becca Tobin (“Glee”, “NCIS: Los Angeles”), Matthew MacCaull (“Tomorrowland”, “Turner & Hooch”), Casey Manderson (“Nutshells”, “When Life was Good”), Carmel Amit (“Ghost Wars”, “Somewhere Between”), Karen Kruper (“Scary Movie”, “Painkiller Jane”), Barclay Hope (“Final Destination 5”, “Paycheck”, “Tooth Fairy”) and more.

The film begins with a young Emma Bloom and Tyler Thorn, who are very close friends and singing during Christmas holidays.

Fast forward to the future and an adult Emma (portrayed by Becca Tobin) works for a management company and her boss Rachel asks her why she never told her she grew up with the singer Tyler Thorn.  Emma told her that she hasn’t seen him since high school and hasn’t really kept in touch with him.

Meanwhile, Tyler is a singer not happy with how things are going with his music career and fires his manager.

Back at Emma’s management company, Rachel finds out from her contacts about Tyler firing his manager and has headed home, so she sends Emma to go back home for the holidays and sign Tyler with the company.

As both Emma and Tyler head home, the two run into each other and the two end up working together to find a new venue for the town’s holiday concert within a week, as the auditorium out of commission.  Tyler is willing to pay to rent out a new venue and we learn that Emma and Tyler were a team, she wrote the songs, he would sing them. But she decided to pursue music, but a different direction. Tyler stayed with singing, while she pursued artist management.

Of course, while the two grow closer during the holidays, Tyler’s ex-manager finds out that he went back home and he goes back in a last attempt to get him back as a client, while Emma gives her boss a feeling that she is close to signing him but in truth, she never brought it up just yet.

Overall, the film follows the “return to your hometown and fall in love” holiday telefilm storyline. The film is entertaining but it tries to throw in a second potential romance storyline involving Emma’s brother Jett and her boss Rachel.  Which wasn’t really needed.

But the holiday telefilm is cool and knowing Becca Tobin can sing (as she was featured on “Glee”), I believe that is her actual vocals (many holiday telefilms that features singing, tend to use someone else singing, so I am hoping that is really both Becca Tobin and Matthew MacCaull singing, but not sure).

But overall, “Christmas is You” is a cool romantic holiday telefilm worth checking out!
