The collaboration between AT&T, the CBS Interactive Music Group and its content partner VEVO will commence with the webcast of the Grammy Award-winning British virtual band, Gorillaz, on Thursday, Oct. 7 (8:00 PM, ET/5:00 PM, PT), and continues with explosive folk rockers My Morning Jacket on Tuesday, Oct. 12 (8:00 PM, ET/5:00 PM, PT).  Additional artists in the series will be announced at a later date.

As part of its sponsorship, AT&T wireless customers can view select performance video clips and exclusive interviews with the artists from their handsets following the webcasts.  Performance and interview clips will also be made available on uverseonline.att.net.

LIVE ON LETTERMAN is an interactive collaboration between television, radio and the Internet where fans can connect with their favorite talent in a multiplatform setting, accessible on-air, online and on-demand.  CBS promotes and broadcasts the webcast across the Company’s multiple assets, with the live concert streaming on the LATE SHOW website (http://www.cbs.com/late_night/liveonletterman/) and airing that night on select CBS RADIO stations throughout the country.  Additional access to live and on-demand video of the concert is available through CBS Television Station websites, TV.com, ETonline.com and theinsider.com, while Last.fm and mp3.com promote and drive tune-in through CBS.com.  Furthermore, as part of CBS Interactive Music Group’s partnership with VEVO, VEVO.com will webcast the Gorillaz and My Morning Jacket live performances with archived on-demand broadcasts available through a VEVO player on VEVO.com and VEVO on YouTube.

Both the Gorillaz and My Morning Jacket exclusive webcasts will follow the taping of the bands’ appearances on the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, which will be broadcast the night of each respective webcast 11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT, on the CBS Television Network.

Gorillaz, recognized by The Guinness Book of World Records as the planet’s Most Successful Virtual Act, have sold over 20 million albums since the 2001 release of their self-titled debut album, in addition to winning a Grammy in 2006 after their 2005 follow-up Demon Days garnered five nominations.  The band, created by Blur’s Damon Albarn and Tank Girl creator Jamie Hewlett, consists of four virtual members: singer 2D, bassist Murdoc Niccals, guitarist Noodle and drummer Russel Hobbs.  Over the last decade, the band has achieved critical and commercial acclaim via smash singles “Feel Good Inc,” “DARE,” “Clint Eastwood,” “Stylo” and more, plus live spectacles ranging from a Grammy appearance with Madonna, to a week-long stand at Harlem’s Apollo Theatre.  Gorillaz’ third and latest album, Plastic Beach, which debuted in March and was recently voted #1 album of 2010 in NPR’s mid-year listeners’ poll, is their most ambitious and groundbreaking to date, featuring a diverse array of contributors, including Lou Reed, Snoop Dogg, Mark E. Smith, De La Soul, Mos Def and Bobby Womack.

Louisville, Ky. rock quintet My Morning Jacket have five studio albums, including 2008’s Evil Urges, which spawned the popular song “I’m Amazed.”  Combining a broad palette of sounds and styles, the band has evolved and created timeless music for more than a decade.  Famous for their live shows and New Year’s Eve extravaganzas, My Morning Jacket has headlined venues such as Radio City Music Hall and Madison Square Garden, and supported acts including Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Pearl Jam.  From Monday, Oct. 18 through Saturday, Oct. 23, My Morning Jacket will play five eagerly anticipated special performances at Terminal 5 in New York City.  Each night during the historic run, the band will chronologically showcase a different album from their illustrious catalogue by playing it in its entirety.
