I now reach day 24 of my holiday marathon and I take a look at the Hallmark Channel’s 2013 telefilm “A Very Merry Mix-Up”.

Directed by Jonathan Wright and written by Barbara Kymlicka, the film stars Alicia Witt (“88 Minutes”, “Vanilla Sky”, “Urban Legend”), Mark Wiebe (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Lawrence Dane, Scott Gibson (“Lucky Number Slevin”), Susan Hogan (“The Butterlfy Effect 2”, “Narrow Margin”, “Disturbing Behavior”), Richard Fitzpatrick (“Good Will Hunting”), Mimi Kuzyk and Judah Katz.

The telefilm first introduces us to antique shop owner Alice (portrayed by Alicia Witt), who runs the family antique shop after her father passed away. Her fiance, Will (portrayed by Scott Gibson) is a real estate tycoon who wants her to sell it, because the business makes no money. But for Alice, it’s the only connection she has with her family that’s left.

Will surprises Alice during a dinner night proposing to her and also letting her know that they are going to visit his family.

On the day both Alice and Will are to leave, Will has a real estate deal, so he tells Alice to go to fly to his hometown and he’ll meet her there. Even though she has never met them or been to the area.

While at the airport, she finds out that her luggage is lost, while she overhears a man name Matt (portrayed by Mark Wiebe) looking for a special present he made and built for his grandfather, which was lost by the airport.

The two talk with each other and Matt accidentally hits Alice pushing her coffee on to her and her smartphone. So, now she doesn’t have her smartphone to look at the information of Will’s family and apologetic, Matt offers to buy her new clothes. When he hears that she is going to the Mitchum family to surprise them that she is the fiance of Will Mitchum, Matt is surprised because his last name is Mitchum but he calls his brother Billy. And tells her that because they are going to the same home, they should drive each other.

As the two are driving, as Alice is showing Matt the engagement ring, he drops it on the driver’s side and while trying to reach it, he crashes into a tree.

Fortunately, the two are safe but just in case for observation, they called Matt’s family to pick them up at the hospital.

And while Alice waits for Will to arrive, she spends time with his brother Matt but also seeing how close his family are especially during the holidays, which she likes a lot.

“A Very Merry Mix-Up” is a fun holiday film which has it all, romance, drama, holiday spirit, finding your own true destiny. It’s one of those classic Hallmark holiday films that stands out because of the how the story plays out and if anything, you can’t but feel happy to see the Christmas decorations, the celebration of Christmas and the holiday fun that takes place throughout the film.

While I won’t spoil the “Mix-Up”, I will say that this holiday film is definitely worth watching!
