NEW YORK – October 4, 2010 – Emmy-nominated actor Charles Dance (Alien3, Bleak House, Gosford Park) has joined the cast of Syfy and Sky Movies HD’s 4-hour movie event Neverland, it was announced today by Robert Halmi, Sr. of RHI Entertainment. The project, a prequel to author J.M. Barrie’s classic Peter Pan, is written and directed by Nick Willing.
Dance will play the role of Dr. Richard Fludd, a 400-year-old former alchemist to Queen Elizabeth and the genius who holds the key to the “bridge” between our world and Neverland. He joins previously announced cast members Rhys Ifans, Anna Friel, Bob Hoskins, Raoul Trujillo and Charlie Rowe. Currently in production in Genoa, Italy and Dublin, Ireland, Neverland is slated to air in 2011.
Neverland is produced by Dublin-based Parallel Films on behalf of MNG Films in association with Syfy and Sky Movies HD and will be distributed by RHI Entertainment.

Filled with white jungles and imposing cities formed out of trees created by Dr. Fludd (Dance), this mysterious realm welcomes unknown friends and enemies snatched from time. These include power-mad Elizabeth Bonny (Friel) and her band of 18th century pirates who search for the answer to eternal youth, a secret guarded by a Holy Man (Trujillo). As the fight to save this strange and beautiful world escalates, Peter and his crew consider that growing old somewhere in time could be less important than growing up—right here in their new home called Neverland.
