The Disney/ABC Television Group received 14 Daytime Emmy Awards at the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards presented this weekend, June 17th and 19th, 2011

For her role as Carly Corinthos Jacks on ABC’s “General Hospital,” Laura Wright was honored with her first Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actress category. For his role as Lucky Spencer on “General Hospital,” three-time Emmy winner Jonathan Jackson was honored with his first Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category. “General Hospital” received a total of eight awards, including Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design; Outstanding Achievement for a Casting Director; Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction; Outstanding Original Song; Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control; Outstanding Stunt Coordination.

For her role as Marissa Chandler on “ABC’s “All My Children,” Brittany Allen received her first Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Younger Actress category. “All My Children” also received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling.

Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa received their first Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host for “LIVE! with Regis and Kelly.” Philbin previously won this category as host of “LIVE! with Regis.”

ABC’s “The View” received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction.

ABC received its first Daytime Emmy in the New Approaches – Daytime Entertainment category for the “All My Children,” “One Life to Live” and “General Hospital” web series, “What If…” ABC also received a Daytime Emmy Award for “Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade” for Outstanding Special Class Directing.

The Daytime Emmy Awards were presented in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Winners of the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards were announced live on CBS Television Network on June 19th from the Las Vegas Hilton. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards were presented on June 17th at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles.
