WORLD RENOWNED GENIUS STEPHEN HAWKING TO APPEAR ON “THE BIG BANG THEORY”

March 9, 2012 – Famed British theoretical physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking will stop by the University to share his beautiful mind with his most ardent admirer, Sheldon Cooper, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, April 5 (8:00–8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

“When people would ask us who a ‘dream guest star’ for the show would be, we would always joke and say Stephen Hawking – knowing that it was a long shot of astronomical proportions,” said Executive Producer Bill Prady.  “In fact, we’re not exactly sure how we got him.  It’s the kind of mystery that could only be understood by, say, a Stephen Hawking.”

Currently in its fifth season, THE BIG BANG THEORY, airs Thursdays at 8pm ET/PT on CBS.  The Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated series was created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, who serve as executive producers alongside Steven Molaro.
