In the past, the term “Girl’sBOX” was officially used for events that featured avex’s idol singers, idol groups and also idol singers and groups from other various labels.

But lately, the Girl’sBOX name has been focused on Nagasawa Nao, Kayo Aiko and DRM member Hasebe Yu. The three formed the idol pop unit “KINGYO” and released the song “LOVERS HIGH” last Summer and then went on to have their own idol tv program and then another Girl’s BOX concert at Shinjuku Face.

Girl’sBOX has long featured other artists and groups such as DRM (formerly known as dream), Hoshii Nanase and several others who would join and become part of the films as well.

For “LOVERS HIGH”, the film would feature Nagasawa, Kayo, Hasebe, Hoshii and Sugawara Toshimi.

This album for those who haven’t purchased the albums or the CD singles from any of the artists can get a total of six tracks from each artist plus “LEO” from DRM. You also get Nagasawa’s “To You” which is a CD single that showcases a more mature side of Nagasawa and you also get the Kingyo track “LOVERS HIGH”.

Personally, I was surprised that there were not more tracks on this album, so personally if you own the music already, the sensible thing to do is buy the CD+DVD version.

The DVD is a 13-minute DVD that features a movie version of the Kingyo song “LOVERS HIGH”. The video is idolish in nature with Nagasawa, Kayo and Hasebe singing on stage. Personally I enjoyed the original music video featuring the three interacting in the countryside.

But where most fans would probably be interested in was the “Making of the Movie” clip which features a pretty good behind-the-scenes look at the filming of several scenes in the movie. Mainly focusing on the singing portions from the film.

Personally, I enjoyed this segment and also to figure out if Hoshii Nanase and Seventh Tarz Armstrong are the same person.

The insert features a collage of photos from the film and the lyrics to each track. Also, the production credits as well. There is a brief synopsis of what the story of the film is all about.

So, what you get for this latest Girl’sBOX release is either the regular album with only six tracks that retails for around $20 or the CD+DVD version which retails around $28.

More than likely, if you are a big fan and interested in “Girl’sBOX”, then owning this release is probably going to happen no matter what.

But if you are budget conscious, if you don’t own the previous albums from DRM, Nagasawa Nao, Kayo Aiko or Kingyo, then I recommend picking this up but specifically the CD+DVD version because you get the extra incentive with the DVD.

But if you do own the album or CD single releases, the album really doesn’t feature all that much. It’s only six tracks and if you can justify paying $20 or more, then go for it. But compared to previous Girl’sBOX releases, I admit that I was hoping to see much more on this album release than six tracks.

All in all, great to see another Girl’sBOX release but it sucks that there are only six tracks total. Go for the CD+DVD version.
