Avex trax has a new project that they are working on and this time, it’s to develop their line of artist and music focusing on R&B and Hip-Hop. The project is known as “Suite Chic” and the main talent behind Suite Chic is Avex pop diva Namie Amuro who will be paired with various talent.

For this first double A-sided single “GOOD LIFE/Just Say So”, Namie is paired with hip hop artists FIRSTKLAS (ala ZEEBRA) and m-flo’s VERBAL.

“GOOD LIFE” features a Soul R&B sound and definitely dig the groove. The lyrical flow from ZEEBRA was well-done and vocals by Namie were very good. The second track “Just Say So” features a crunky groove/beat and I have to admit that it took me awhile to get used to the arrangement because I felt that Amuro’s vocals were much more better in this song but felt the music really was a distraction. Verbal’s rhymes were solid as usual but overall, a good track that could have been better musically.

The last two tracks rounding off the single are the instrumentals for both tracks.
CD insert is standard bi-fold with lyrics to the songs.

Overall, “GOOD LIFE/Just Say So” was a good debut single for the Suite Chic project. Felt the second track musical arrangement’s music was OK but it really could have been better because Amuro’s vocals was much better in the second track. A good single and look forward to the next.
