Sure, many of you grew up watching Miranda Cosgrove through television shows such as Nickelodeon’s “Drake & Josh” and her popular (and very successful) television ongoing show “iCarly” but we got a taste of Cosgrove’s vocals through the “ICarly” theme song as she sung “Leave it All to me”.
But this is a Miranda Cosgrove who is growing older and with this album, she is writing some of her tracks and working with producers Matrix and Dr. Luke. And with big names such as these producers, she’s definitely in fine company. And so far, listening to the first track from her upcoming album “Sparks Fly”, I definitely like where her music is headed.
The song which is co-written by Cosgrove and Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald (known for hits such as Britney Spear’s “Circus”, Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” and “Hot N Cold”, Flo Rida’s “Right Round” and Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” and “Behind These Hazel Eyes”.
The track is well-produced, well-sung and has that sing/song style similar to Taylor Swift but with a rock edge. The song features Cosgrove singing about kissing and enjoying it.
I have to say, compared to the other young solo female artists (especially from Disney), Miranda Cosgrove’s first single definitely shows sign of great potential. I definitely look forward in seeing what Cosgrove and her producers have in store for her upcoming album.
