Michelle Branch returned in March with her first solo single in five years with “This Way”.  The pop artist known for hit singles such as “Everywhere”, “All You Wanted”, “Goodbye to You” and “Are You Happy Now?” has been busy in the last five years.  Branch had gotten married, moved to Nashville and collaborated with her longtime friend and backup vocalist Jessica Harp and forming a duo known as the Wreckers combining both of their talents to make country music.

Now Branch is back with her second single of the year with  “Sooner or Later”, the lead off single for her first solo country album “Everything Comes and Goes”.

The CD single features Michelle Branch’s style of music and her well-known beautiful vocals.  The music for “Sooner or Later” has music that is similar to what one would hear from an artist such as Taylor Swift but whether or not Country audiences see this latest single as a breakthrough country music single, I pretty much don’t know, because this song has more in common with her earlier music releases but of course a prominence with the use of banjo and steel guitar fills.  In a way, I see the single as a combination of both worlds and bringing together her older fans and her newer fans to her style of music.

Nevertheless, I know that Country music reviewers have felt differently about this single but as a Michelle Branch fan of her previous works and even now, and perhaps I maybe a little biased towards her music, but overall I enjoyed this single and it makes me excited to hear what she has in store for upcoming album.
