Singer/songwriter Leyona who hails from Hiroshima is a music artist that has had single releases through Epic Records and Victor Entertainment since 1999. In 2009, Leyona signed a record deal with Cutting Edge and released her second mini-album through the label.
Leyona is an artist who incorporates her love for rock and roots black music and her love for reggae and blues to her music. Her lyrics express her unique perspective to the world. With her second mini-album “Melody”, the music is laid-back, comforting and she has that Colbie Caillat meets New Soul with solid tracks such as “Fairyland”, “Melody” and “Sunshine on Me”. With most of the songs acoustic guitar driven, the final track “Deep Blue” is the most beat-driven, pop song included on the whole mini-album but definitely one of the songs that stands out. Overall, the five tracks on “Melody” are rather soothing and catchy!
