Every Little Thing – Dream Goes On (a J!-ENT World Groove CD Single Review)

February 21, 2010 by

The 37th CD single from Every Little Thing.  An average at best single for the duo but a main title track that didn’t hold my interest all that long.  In fact, I enjoyed the coupling track much more.

  1. DREAM GOES ON (Video Clip)

Since 1996, I have been following the music of the group Every Little Thing. The duo which consists of vocalist Kaori Mochida and guitarist Ichiro Ito return with their 37th CD single “Dream Goes On”.

For the most part, the single is a pretty tame ELT release. One of those singles that you can listen to and say, “typical ELT” but at the same time, two tracks that are good and if anything, I felt that the coupling track “spearmint” was much more enjoyable than the main track “Drea Goes On”.

The title track is typical ELT mid-tempo pop flair. The song is more of an inspirational track for women to continue their dream. For ELT fans, its a decent song although a track that really doesn’t hold your interest all that long. In fact, I’ve listened more to “spearmint” an upbeat, more mid-tempo rock track featuring words and music by Mitsuru Igarashi. The song has a more striking musical arrangement and a chorus that I really dig.

As for the DVD,the music video features both Kaori and Mitsuru in the middle of a grassy field. Kaori is singing while Mitsuru is playing his guitar. And we see women walking through the field and then Kaori following right after.

The final two tracks are the instrumental versions of the first two songs.

Overall, “Dream Goes On” is a good Every Little Thing single release but not great. As mentioned, the main title track that didn’t hold my interest all that long. As mentioned, I enjoyed the coupling track even more and for those who are wondering if they should get the CD or CD+DVD version.

My judgment call is that “Dream Goes On” is an average single at best and you’re not really missing much if you opt for the version without the DVD.

NOTICEABLE CONTENTS:

The CD single insert comes with lyrics and production credits for the two tracks.  Also, included is a mini-flier for ‘Every Little Thing Concert Tour 2009-2010 “Meet”‘.
