Daichi Miura has come a long way since he debuted at the age of 8 with the Okinawa-based dance group known as FOLDER back in 1997.
Known for a young kid belting out pop tunes, the young kid has now entered his 20s and the solo artist inspired by the likes of Justin Timberlake and USHER released his first single for 2009 titled “Your Love” featuring a collaboration with Japanese hip hop artist KREVA.
The single “Your Love” features a smooth, mid-tempo R&B track with KREVA not really rhyming but just saying a few lines during the track. Overall, a smooth track that focuses on Miura’s Western style of pop music.
The coupling track “Spotlight” is an upbeat R&B track which is a pretty cool track and could easily be a double A-side track because the production and music quality is top-notch. As with Miura’s vocals.
The DVD features the music video consists of a slick production featuring Daichi and hip hop artist KREVA in a darkened room and behind them are windows with the Tokyo skyline during the night. And of course, what kind of music video would be without the choreography that Miura is known for. So, definitely expect cool choreography in this music video as well.
The second track on the DVD features an interview with Daichi Miura and behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the music video.
It’s important to let Miura fans who depended on the DVD’s for the choreography “how-to-dance” type of video tracks will need to know that those choreography videos are not included on this DVD.
As for the CD insert, the insert is a bi-fold with the lyrics and production credits.
Overall, another solid CD single from Daichi Miura. Both tracks are catchy, cool grooves and definitely showcasing Miura’s style of music that compliments his choreography. Although KREVA does take part in the track “Your Love”, his presence is there but no major segment with the hip hop artist showcasing his rhymes. But overall, both tracks are solid and the DVD also features a cool music video.
If you are a fan of Daichi Miura, this release continues his streak of upbeat, catchy pop tracks that are worth checking out!
