BAReeeeeeeeeeN is a special collaboration group which consists of the group GReeeeN, the band BACK-ON and JIN. In 2008, the special group released their single “Ashiato” .
It’s a pretty awesome collaboration as we get the popular band GReeeeN collaborating with hip-rock band BACK-ON and producer JIN and according to the producer, the goal was to fuse GReeeeN’s harmony and vocals with BACK-ON’s rapping and for the most part, the results are successful.
“Ashiato” is a pretty cool single with catchy lyrics, great rhythmic flow of the rhymes from BACK-ON.
The second track “color” features BACK-ON’s more rock side for the early verse but then transitions to a more singsong pace. But the track does feature cool grungy guitarwork and it’s a pretty solid upbeat hip-rock track.
The CD insert features a tri-fold with the lyrics and production credits. The insert is also embossed where the black kana is on the cover. Also, included is a promotional for BACK-ON’s first full album and a sticker sheet with 14 stickers included (mainly of the front cover and various versions of the “e” with eyeballs).
Overall, the collaboration between both GReeeeN and BACK-ON along with JIN is pretty awesome. But I get a feeling this may be only a 1-shot deal. I guess we’ll find out in the near future but let’s hope they collaborate together again for another single or possible album.
