STAR PERFORMERS AND GUESTS ANNOUNCED FOR HOLLYWOOD IN VIENNA

Vienna will once again be the center of film music when guests and performers such as James Newton Howard, Keith Lockhart, Richard Bellis, Grammy-Nominee Brian McKnight, Velile Mchunu and Soprano Daniela Fally celebrate Hollywood in Vienna and make it a night to remember.

Vienna, Austria Sept 22nd, 2015 – Vienna, the music capital of the world, will once again be in the spotlight with the Hollywood in Vienna gala, taking place at the historic Vienna Concert Hall on October 16, 2015. Many Hollywood & Broadway Stars will attend and perform at the red-carpet event. Apart from Oscar-nominated and Grammy-winning Guest of Honor James Newton Howard (“The Hunger Games”, “Maleficent”, ‘The Dark Knight”), Hollywood in Vienna is excited to welcome composer Richard Bellis (Stephen Kings “IT”) plus another thirty Hollywood guests and international media representatives. ORF (Austrian Radio Broadcasting) will broadcast the gala, for the third time, in 35 countries worldwide.

A top-class selection of international talent will perform at this year’s gala, which is titled “Tales of Mystery”.
The American R&B singer and 16-time Grammy-Nominee Brian McKnight, who has performed duets with Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and Celine Dion in the past, will perform together with Bosnian Edita “Madita” Malovčić and South-African singer Velile Mchunu (Hamburg Production of “The Lion King”). In addition, acclaimed Austrian Soprano Daniela Fally will give her “Film Music” debut at Hollywood in Vienna. “I’m looking very much forward to the challenge, as film music, unlike any other art form, is able to support and enhance the emotional life of the character in a movie”, says Fally.

The musical performers will be supported by the Choir Neue Wiener Stimmen, the children’s choir Superar and the Afro-Choir Insingizi & Friends. Making his debut as a guest conductor of the ORF Radio-Symphony Orchestra is Keith Lockhart, conductor and music director of the Boston Pops. The Emcee of the gala will be the German host Steven Gätjen.

The highlight of the evening will be when Norbert Kettner (CEO Vienna Tourist Board), as official representative of the City of Vienna, will present the “Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award” to James Newton Howard. Howard’s work encompasses over 120 scores, including “The Hunger Games” Trilogy, “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight,” and “The Sixth Sense,” to name just a few of his projects. He also wrote the Billboard charting song “The Hanging Tree” originally performed by Jennifer Lawrence, which will have its World Premiere performance during the concert.

The historic Hotel Imperial is a partner of Hollywood in Vienna this year and will host the guests while they reside in Vienna. Entertainers such as Charlie Chaplin, Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga enjoyed the unique flair of an imperial palace and royal service in the past. The audience of this year’s concert will be able to taste and purchase the world famous “Imperial Torte” at the concert venue, with proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® Austria.
