New Direction, Gameplay for Capcom’s Portable Legal Adventure Series Coming this Winter
SAN MATEO, Calif. — April 28, 2009 — Capcom® Entertainment, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that Ace Attorney Investigations™: Miles Edgeworth is scheduled for release on Nintendo DS™ in North America this winter. Ace Attorney Investigations™ is the newest offering in Capcom’s successful Ace Attorney® franchise, swapping the stage of a courtroom for a crime scene, and getting to the bottom of cases that will test the skills of eagle-eyed players with challenges developed for Nintendo DS.
Ace Attorney Investigations sheds light on the other side of the judicial system with a whole new gameplay dynamic to the world of Ace Attorney. As Miles Edgeworth, users will investigate various locations, work directly with characters on the scene, find contradictions, and get to the truth by presenting decisive evidence. Miles Edgeworth can also make use of the all-new “Logic” system, in which he chooses two pieces of information out of the various pieces he has collected and “combines” them to discover new information. Ace Attorney Investigations features several lengthy, interrelated episodes that will challenge players to use their minds to solve the series of crimes that have been committed around Miles Edgeworth.
As with the intense courtroom battles that have become a staple of the Ace Attorney series, using collected information and confronting suspicious characters, Miles Edgeworth will arrive at the truth. And with Capcom’s Motohide Eshiro at the helm (known for his work as the director of Onimusha® 2, Shadow of Rome®, and co-producer of Phoenix Wright™: Ace Attorney® – Justice for All and Phoenix Wright™: Ace Attorney® – Trials and Tribulations) this could be the best Ace Attorney adventure yet!
Miles Edgeworth is the famed rival prosecutor of court-house-dynamo Phoenix Wright, star of the first three Ace Attorney games. Since becoming the youngest prosecutor in the country at the tender age of 20, Miles Edgeworth built quite a reputation for himself by putting away bad guys in short order. However, after several confrontations against Wright, he has changed his approach to seeking the truth. Unfortunately, Wright was only the beginning of his troubles. In Ace Attorney Investigations™: Miles Edgeworth, the flashy prosecutor in the wine red suit is plagued by a series of deaths that seem to follow him wherever he goes.
