I have been a big supporter of Nickelodeon’s children’s shows. While my song is now grown up, having reviewed these children shows since he was young and having reviewed them as many friends and associates now have younger children, I credit these shows for aiding with my son’s development at a young age. Not only does he excel in class, I felt that these shows are what helped him receive that head start of learning ABC’s, learning his 123’s but also helping with making decisions and working as a team.

There are a lot of important lesson that are seen on each episode but most importantly, for “Let’s Learn: Colors”, your children will learn about different colors and also how mixing colors can make up another color.

My child was raised watching these Nickelodeon educational children’s shows and I do believe that it helped in his development as he is doing exceptionally well at school, especially when it comes to decision making and also an appreciation for other cultures and languages.

While many of the Nickelodeon favorites with compilations of episodes tend to be a mixed with different episodes of the top Nick Jr. shows, parents who have been wanting DVD’s specially geared to a certain subject, should be pleased with “Let’s Learn: Colors”. For Team Umizoomi, the series uses math to help children.  In “Butterfly Dance”, children will need to learn how to help a young girl find parts of her costume for her butterfly dance.

In “Bubble Guppies”, for the episode “We Totally Rock!”,  your child can learn about rock n’ roll, the air guitar and instruments but also teamwork.

In “Go, Diego, Go!”, your child can learn about iguanas but also improve their decisio-making skills.

In “Wonder Pets”, it’s a fantasy adventure with two episodes as children need to help the Wonder Pets save the Beetles but also a Fiddler Crab.

And in “Ni Hao, Kai-lan”, your child can learn a little Chinese, learn the importance of team work (and not being selfish) and improve their decision-making skills.

My child was raised watching these Nickelodeon educational children’s shows and I do believe that it helped in his development as he is doing exceptionally well at school, especially when it comes to decision making and also an appreciation for other cultures and languages.

As for special features, the DVD does come with “Bubble Guppies” music videos.

Overall, your young children should be entertained by this release. All episodes are safe for children and parents will also be happy to know that they can learn from each of these episodes and also it will definitely help keep the children occupied during the spring break or just looking for a fun series that they can sing and dance to.

“Nickelodeon Favorites: Dance to the Music” is recommended for parents and their children!

Picture quality is dependent on the series as “Dora the Explorer”, “Go, Diego, Go!” and “Ni Hao, Kai-Lan” are animation-based, “Blue’s Clues” and “Wonder Pets!” tend to combine CG, while “Yo Gabba Gabba” is live with some skits that are animated.

But overall, this is for the children and the picture and audio quality should be satisfactory.

It’s summer time and if you have a toddler who gets easily restless during the break and also gets a little feisty about not learning from mom and dad when he/she was so used to learning from teachers, all of us parents have been in that position and sometimes you need positive educational programming for children for those three months.

And what best time than now for children to learn about summer vacation, having fun, getting involve with decision making and also learn about team work and safety than checking out the latest Nickelodeon DVD “Summer Vacation”.

“Sisters and Brothers” is a fun release for children and also parents who want to find DVD’s that can be educational as well as finding a DVD to help ease children with the concept that there is a baby coming.  May it be mommy or daddy, relative or friend.

And “We Love Our Friends” features six episodes that deal with “love” and “Valentine’s Day”.  From Dora and Boots celebrating the fact that they are best friends, “Go, Diego Go!” and “Blue’s Clues” dealing wtih Valentine’s Day” and also episodes of “Wonder Pets!” and “Ni Hao, Kai-lan” dealing with making up after arguments.

Once again, you get 5-6 episodes from Nickelodeon’s top childrens TV series and each are educational and fun for young children.  My child was raised from these educational children’s shows and I do believe that it helped in his development as he is doing exceptionally well at school, especially when it comes to decision making and also an appreciation for other cultures and languages.

As for special features, two of the DVD’s have special features while “Summer Vacation” does not.

But what this DVD box set comes down to is more fun, more DVD’s for a great price!  If you are a parent or grandparent, personally for me, one DVD is not going to keep my son’s attention, the more DVD’s, the more episodes, the better.  So, I do recommend this DVD box set.

For the most part, your young children should be entertained by this release. All episodes are safe for children and parents will also be happy to know that they can learn from each of these episodes and also it will definitely help keep the children occupied at home or during those long vacation commutes.

Overall, Nickelodeon’s “Nickelodeon Favorites: Big Box of Play Dates Vol. 2” gives parents more bang for their buck and three DVD’s to keep the children occupied all summer!  Recommended!

Included on this DVD is “Dora the Explorer”, “Go, Diego, Go!”, “Blue’s Clues”, “Wonder Pets!”, “Yo Gabba Gabba” and “Ni Hao, Kai-Lan” and for the most part, this is a pretty cool DVD for a children sold for a very low price and as there are different episodes of different shows on one DVD and not only does it work great as an educational DVD to keep children’s busy but also for those long commutes, these shows are very helpful in the development for children.

VIDEO & AUDIO:

The episodes featured in “Nickelodeon Favorites: Food with Friends!” are presented in full screen and in Dolby Digital stereo. Animation features vibrant colors and dialogue is clear and understandable.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

“Nickelodeon Favorites: Food with Friends!” comes with the following special features:

As any parent, grandparent and guardian have experienced a child who discovers food for the first time, some who are unwilling to try new foods and those discovering how fruits and vegetables can be grown.  But for the child, new foods can often steer young (and even older) children away.

Fortunately, with “Nickelodeon Favorites: Food with Friends!”, children can learn about fruits, vegetables, trying new foods but also other educational tools that can help a child learn a few words in Spanish and Chinese.  But also help them learn how to solve problems, how working as a team is good and more!

And probably the most exciting aspect of this DVD is the fact that you do get six TV shows and with school about to end very soon, your probably going to want to have some children’s DVDs around that are educational and fun.

My child was raised from these educational children’s shows and I do believe that it helped in his development as he is doing exceptionally well at school, especially when it comes to decision making and also an appreciation for other cultures and languages.

While Nickelodeon children’s DVD’s tend to not have special features, fortunately with “Food with Friends!”, he DVD includes short music videos featuring Team Umizoomi.

For the most part, your young children should be entertained by this release. All episodes are safe for children and parents will also be happy to know that they can learn from each of these episodes. Granted, this DVD is not going to relieve any anxiety of a child eating new foods and trying something different but at least it may help some.  But most importantly, it’s the educational benefits of watching these shows that will help the young children.

Overall, Nickelodeon’s “Nickelodeon Favorites: Food with Friends!” is a fun-tastic, educational DVD for the children!
