CBS ANNOUNCES REMAINING COMPANIES AND AIRDATES FOR SEASON THREE OF “UNDERCOVER BOSS”

Remaining Companies Include Yankee Candle, TaylorMade Golf Company, Budget Blinds, Philly Pretzel Factory, FASTSIGNS International and Mastec

CBS announced today the remaining companies and airdates for Season Three of UNDERCOVER BOSS.  The two-time Emmy Award-nominated reality series recently moved to its new Friday (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) time period.

The companies and airdates for the remaining episodes of UNDERCOVER BOSS this season include:

  •  Friday, March 30: YANKEE CANDLE (Harlan Kent, President and CEO) – The leading designer, manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer of premium scented candles, making more than 200 million candles per year.
  •  Friday, April 6: TAYLORMADE GOLF COMPANY (Mark King, President and CEO) – The largest manufacturer of golf equipment and apparel in the world.
  •  Friday, April 13: BUDGET BLINDS (Chad Hallock, CEO and Co-Founder) – The largest window coverings franchise in North America with more than 800 franchise locations in the nation.
  •  Friday, April 27: PHILLY PRETZEL FACTORY (Dan DiZio, CEO and Co-Founder) – Philly Pretzel Factory sells more than 100 million pretzels each year.
  •  Friday, May 4: FASTSIGNS INTERNATIONAL (Catherine Monson, President and CEO) – The world’s leading signage, graphics and visual communications franchise, made up of 530 locations and 4,000 employees.
  •  Friday, May 11: MASTEC (Jose Mas, CEO) – One of the largest builders of telecommunication and energy systems in North America, building everything from electric power lines, wireless infrastructure, natural gas pipelines and sources of renewable energy generation.

  •  Friday, March 2: POPEYES LOUISIANA KITCHEN (Lynne Zappone, Chief Talent Officer) – The world’s second-largest fried chicken restaurant chain.

“Diamond Resorts” — The undercover experience is no vacation for Stephen J. Cloobeck, Chairman and CEO of Diamond Resorts International, one of the world’s largest timeshare companies, as he finds himself performing a dangerous job that bursts into flames.  Meanwhile, the boss also reaches his breaking point with an employee’s job performance, forcing him to break his cover, on the third season premiere of UNDERCOVER BOSS, Sunday, Jan. 15 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

CBS RENEWS ITS SUNDAY REALITY SERIES

“The Amazing Race” and “Undercover Boss” Picked Up for Broadcast during the 2011-2012 Season

 

CBS has renewed its Sunday reality series-THE AMAZING RACE and UNDERCOVER BOSS-for broadcast during the 2011-2012 season.

 

THE AMAZING RACE, hosted by Phil Keoghan, will make its 19th sprint around the world next season.  The recent fall edition delivered nearly 12 million viewers, matching the prior year in viewers while posting gains in both adults 25-54 (+2%) and adults 18-49 (+3%), despite airing against “Sunday Night Football.”

The current edition of THE AMAZING RACE features a unique twist with the return of 11 fan-favorite teams who fell short of winning the million dollar prize during their first race around the world.  It also marks the first edition of the show to be broadcast in high definition.

 

THE AMAZING RACE is a seven-time Emmy Award winner for “Outstanding Reality Competition Program.”

 

UNDERCOVER BOSS, which follows high-level corporate executives as they slip anonymously into the rank and file of their own companies, premiered last February following CBS’s presentation of the Super Bowl.  In its first year, UNDERCOVER BOSS was the #1 new show of the season and earned an Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Reality Program.”

 

This season, airing against “Sunday Night Football” for the first time, UNDERCOVER BOSS remains a top 20 program in viewers, averaging 12.3 million and a 3.4/08 in adults 18-49.

 

Featured on this season’s UNDERCOVER BOSS were some of America’s best known companies, including NASCAR, the Chicago Cubs, MGM Grand, Subway, DirecTV, Mack Trucks, Chiquita and Frontier Airlines, as well as the Mayor of Cincinnati.

 

Jerry Bruckheimer, Bertram van Munster, Jonathan Littman, Elise Doganieri and Mark Vertullo are the executive producers of THE AMAZING RACE for Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Earthview Inc. in association with ABC Studios and Amazing Race Productions.  Phil Keoghan is host.  THE AMAZING RACE was created by Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri.

“Mack Trucks” – Denny Slagle, President and CEO of Mack Trucks, the second largest manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks in the world, goes undercover and accidently brings their plant’s assembly line to sudden halt, and later discovers that rumors are circulating about Mack moving their operations to Mexico, on UNDERCOVER BOSS, Sunday, Feb. 20 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

“The Amazing Race” and “Undercover Boss” Post Week-to-Week Gains

CBS’s Sunday reality series-THE AMAZING RACE and UNDERCOVER BOSS-posted week-to-week increases in viewers and key demographics, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Nov. 21.

Note:  Due to live sports programming on CBS (12 minutes of late-running football), ratings for CBS are tentative and subject to change.

THE AMAZING RACE 17 (6.9/11, 11.65m) averaged a 4.2/09 in adults 25-54 and 3.1/08 in adults 18-49.  Compared to last week, THE AMAZING RACE 17 was up +15% in households (from 6.0/09), +11% in both adults 25-54 (from 3.8/08) and adults 18-49 (from 2.8/07) and added +1.31m viewers (from 10.34m, +13%).  Note:  The Fast NTI average includes 12 minutes of 60 MINUTES.

UNDERCOVER BOSS (7.1/11, 11.88m) averaged a 4.2/09 in adults 25-54 and 3.3/06 in adults 18-49 (3.3/06).  Compared to last week, UNDERCOVER BOSS was up +15% in households (from 6.2/09), +17% in adults 25-54 (from 3.6/08), +22% in adults 18-49 (from 2.7/06) and added +1.46m viewers (from 10.42m, +14%).  NOTE:  The Fast NTI average includes 12 minutes of THE AMAZING RACE.

Bosses from NASCAR, DirecTV, Great Wolf Resorts and Chiquita Will Go Undercover

UNDERCOVER BOSS, last season’s #1 new series, returns for its second season with some of the nation’s top executives hitting the front lines for an unfiltered look inside their own companies.  UNDERCOVER BOSS, which is nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program, premieres in a special time period on Sunday, Sept. 26 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) before moving to its regular time period (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on Sunday, Oct. 3.

Among the initial companies whose bosses have signed up for the undercover mission include:

  • NASCAR (Steve Phelps, Senior Vice President and CMO) – the sanctioning body for the #1 spectator sport in the U.S.;
  • DirecTV (Mike White, Chairman, President and CEO) – the world’s most popular video service, delivering state-of-the-art technology to over 25 million customers;
  • Chiquita Brands International, Inc. (Fernando Aguirre, Chairman and CEO) – a leading international marketer and distributor of bananas, fruits and salads;
  • Great Wolf Resorts (Kimberly K. Schaefer, CEO) – North America’s largest family of indoor waterpark resorts.

CBS announced today the four remaining companies who are participating in the first season of UNDERCOVER BOSS. The series airs Sundays (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The remaining Season One companies are:

* 1-800-Flowers (Chris McCann, President): One of the world’s largest florists
* GSI Commerce (Michael G. Rubin, Chairman, President and CEO): The e-commerce giant behind numerous top U.S. retailers
* Herschend Family Entertainment (Joel Manby, President and CEO): A leader in the world of family theme parks and attractions
