September 2, 2010 by J!-ENT · Leave a Comment
This is the last thing T.I. needs and unfortunately, the hip hop artist and his wife Tameka Cottle were arrested on drug charges on Wednesday.
Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Pope said, “Deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A narcotics investigation ensued” that resulted in the arrests at around 11:30 p.m. on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.
Both were released on bail at 4:00 a.m. for $10,000 each and are due in court on Friday to face two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
This is not good for T.I. who is on parole for his 2008 conviction for an illegal weapons charge. T.I. served seven months in prison and 90 days in a halfway house wand was released on probation in March.
Tameka tweeted the following earlier this morning:

#1 music artist in America, T.I., “anxious” for 1 year in prison
October 13, 2008 by Dennis Amith · Leave a Comment
In a recent interview with CNN, T.I. who has dominated the Billboard music charts talks about his upcoming one year prison sentence starting in March after an illegal weapons charge in which the music artist is currently severing seven months house arrest and 1,500 hours of community service. Here is an excerpt from that interview:
CNN: When I first heard about the charges, I said, “You have got to be kidding. WHY?”
T.I.: Well, in order to fully understand the answer to that question, you will have to put yourself in my shoes. You know how many attempts have been made against my life? There are people out there that would rather kill you than to tell you “Good luck” or “I am happy for you.” So until you understand that, you wouldn’t understand my train of thought.
Not to say it was right. It’s just my best explanation.
CNN: What scares you?
T.I.: Federal court dates. (Laughs)
CNN: Are you scared about going to jail for a year?
T.I.: I wouldn’t describe it as fear. I would describe it more as concerned. Concerned, and I am a little anxious. Sooner I get started, sooner I get finished.
