“THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS” AND “THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL” POST LARGEST AUDIENCES IN A YEAR

For the week ending Jan. 5, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS (which just celebrated 29 consecutive years as daytime’s #1 drama) delivered 4.82 million viewers, its largest weekly audience in a year (since the week of Jan. 6, 2017). The daytime series, currently in its 44th season, began its winning streak the week of Dec. 26, 1988.

THE BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL delivered 3.94 million viewers, also its largest audience since the week ending Jan. 6, 2017.

THE TALK also hit an 11-month high with 2.80 million viewers, its biggest week in over 11 months (since week ending Jan. 27, 2017)

“Y&R” Actor Christian Le Blanc Surprised Underwood With News She Will Appear as a Justice of the Peace for a Big Upcoming Wedding Scene, Airing February 10 on CBS

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 3 – THE TALK co-host Sheryl Underwood was surprised on today’s show with news that she will have a guest appearance in an upcoming episode of the number one daytime drama THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS playing a Justice of the Peace for a “very important” wedding scene.

 

Emmy Award-winning actor Christian Le Blanc, who plays attorney Michael Baldwin on “The Young and the Restless,” visited THE TALK and surprised Underwood with the announcement:  “After extensive searching –and we were desperate –who do we NEED BAD on ‘The Young and the Restless?’  Let me just say, you had me on the single ladies routine.  You are going to have a part on ‘The Young & The Restless’ as a Justice of the Peace, and you’ll be performing a wedding.  A VERY important wedding on the show….and that’s all we can tell you.”

 

Underwood, a longtime fan of the soap, reacted with screams and excitement upon hearing the news of her cameo that she is filming sometime next week.  The episode featuring Underwood will air Friday, February 10, 2012 on CBS.

 

THE TALK, CBS’s daytime talk show features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities having The Talk about current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. The daily one-hour series is co-hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler and airs weekdays (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; 1:00-2:00 PM, PT).  John Redmann and Gilbert, who developed the show, are executive producers.

CBS’s THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS was the top-rated daytime drama for the 1,196th consecutive week, or 23 years, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Dec. 2.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS was also first in women 25-54 for the 250th time in 251 weeks and first in women 18-49 for the 245th time in 247 weeks.

Stars Will Discuss How the Fictional Brand, Jabot Cosmetics, Became a Real Product

  

“The Talk” Co-Hosts Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete to Appear on “The Young and The Restless,” Thursday, July 28

 

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS stars Peter Bergman and Tracey Bregman will appear on THE TALK on Thursday, July 14 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET; 1:00-2:00 PM, PT) to tell how daytime’s #1 drama series brought the fictional beauty brand, Jabot Cosmetics, to life after being featured on the soap for more than 20 years.  Bregman, who plays Lauren Fenmore Baldwin on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, serves as the face of the line.

 

Then, on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete will appear in an episode in which Bergman’s character, Jack Abbott, whose family founded the Jabot Cosmetics line in Genoa City, and Bregman’s character, Lauren Fenmore Baldwin, make an appearance on THE TALK to discuss the cosmetics line as part of the storyline.  This episode of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS will air Thursday, July 28, (12:30-1:30 PM, ET; 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, PT).

Badalucco to Appear in a Recurring Role Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 13

Emmy Award winner Michael Badalucco will join the #1 daytime drama, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, in the recurring role of Hogan, a charismatic tough guy bookie who will be involved with Jeff (Ted Shackelford) and Kevin (Greg Rikaart) in finding new avenues of revenue for Jeff and Gloria’s (Judith Chapman) nightclub/restaurant, Gloworm.  Badalucco’s episodes will begin airing Wednesday, Oct. 13, on the CBS Television Network.

Badalucco won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 1999 for his role as Jimmy Berluti in David E. Kelley’s “The Practice,” a role he played from 1997-2004.

ACTOR DAVID HASSELHOFF TO RETURN TO CBS’s “THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS” TUESDAY JUNE 15 ? FRIDAY JUNE 18 AND MONDAY JUNE 21

Hasselhoff’s Daughter, Taylor Ann, to Make Her Daytime Debut on Wednesday, June 16

David Hasselhoff makes a brief return to the #1 daytime drama, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, in the role of Dr. William ‘Snapper’ Foster, Jr., Tuesday, June 15 through Friday, June 18 and Monday, June 21 on the CBS Television Network.  Hasselhoff originally played the role from 1975-1982.

In addition, Hasselhoff’s daughter, Taylor Ann, will make her daytime debut, playing a nurse in scenes with her father on Wednesday, June 16.

“I was so honored to be asked back by the Bell family for a short visit to Genoa City, this time with my daughter, Taylor Ann,” said Hasselhoff.  “It was surreal and felt like I never left.”

The character of Snapper Foster has been working in London, but returns home to visit his sister, Jill (played by Jess Walton), and finds himself unexpectedly caught up in a family drama.
