RACHEL LINDSAY BEGINS HER SEARCH FOR THAT ONE SPECIAL MAN WHEN ‘THE BACHELORETTE’ PREMIERES MONDAY, MAY 22, ON ABC

May 17, 2017 by · Leave a Comment

What do a professional wrestler by day and a doting dad by night, a chiropractor with magic hands, a secret admirer who has had a crush since early childhood days, a charmer who wanted to go to Las Vegas and immediately get married and a startup recruiter who had a memorable introduction with an unforgettable opening line have in common? They’re all on the hunt for Rachel Lindsay when the 13th edition of ABC’s popular romance reality series “The Bachelorette” premieres on MONDAY, MAY 22, at a special time (9:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network.

Editors’ note: “The Bachelorette” will return to its regular time slot on Monday, May 29 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EDT).

A luminous enthusiastic Bachelorette braces herself for the experience of a lifetime and the possibility of finding her Prince Charming. The memorable first meetings begin with Brady, a male model who hauls out a sledgehammer to “break the ice” and get acquainted. Matt, a construction sales rep, attempts to endear himself to Rachel by wearing a penguin costume. Blake E., one of the men who received an early introduction on the “After the Final Rose” show, doesn’t want to waste his second chance. The aspiring drummer, not to be outdone, brings along a marching band to stir things up.

Inside the mansion, the men continue to try and captivate Rachel. Josiah, a fellow attorney, pulls her away for the first one-one-one conversation. He discusses his troubled past and how it changed the course of his life. Fred, who went to elementary school with Rachel, brings a yearbook and admits to a lifelong fascination with his former classmate. Adam arrives with a surprise friend – an identical dummy named “A.J.” – much to Rachel’s delight. Bryan comes on strong, captivating the Bachelorette and literally sweeping her off her feet. But as passion flourishes, so do the confrontations between the bachelors: Blake E. challenges Lucas about whether he is there for the “right reasons.”

Kenny, a single dad, moves Rachel with her devotion to his daughter. Many relationships look promising as Rachel continues to familiarize herself with the men, but there is only one first impression rose. The Bachelorette follows her best instincts in choosing who should get her first rose.

The apprehensive men have to hope they are among the 23 left to move into the mansion and continue in the race for Rachel’s heart.

Rachel’s 31 suitors are:
Adam, 27, a real estate agent from Dallas, TX
Alex, 28, an information systems supervisor from Grosse Pointe Park, MI

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 44% currently, from 41% at the same point in 2011. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.

EMILY RETURNS TO THE U.S. TO JOIN THE FOUR REMAINING BACHELORS IN THEIR HOMETOWNS, BUT SHE IS FALLING IN LOVE WITH MORE THAN ONE MAN,
AND POTENTIAL DISASTER LURKS BETWEEN EMILY AND SOME OF THE FAMILIES,
ON ABC’S “THE BACHELORETTE”

“Episode 808” – The stakes are high as Emily returns from her exciting and emotionally charged journey around the world to travel across the country to visit Arie, Chris, Jef and Sean in their hometowns. She has shown a spirit and resilience that has surprised her suitors, but she will be severely tested by some of the families as she tries to figure out if she can be in love with more than one man. Are all of these bachelors ready for marriage and to be dads? Emily will find out from the people that know them the best, as she moves closer to making her own fairytale come true, on “The Bachelorette,” MONDAY, JULY 2 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

After a much-needed reunion with her daughter, Ricki, Emily starts her hometown adventures on the bustling streets of Chicago, where Chris is located. He takes her on a walking tour of the city and for a taste of his family’s heritage at a local Polish restaurant. The conversation turns serious as Chris once again apologizes for his childish behavior on their last group date. Now with the air cleared, it seems smooth sailing from here. Emily feels instantly comfortable with Chris’ tight knit family, but they are worried he will end up brokenhearted. Will Chris take a giant leap of faith and share the depth of his true feelings for her? The celebration is just getting started as his extended family shows up for some traditional Polish festivities.

Then it’s on to St. George, Utah, to visit Jef, the cool, laid-back entrepreneur. Arriving at his family ranch, Emily is caught off guard not only by the beauty of this desert paradise, but by Jef’s country boy appeal to match his more sophisticated side. The couple enjoys an afternoon together, shooting targets and touring the ranch. Emily’s early confidence fades as she nervously meets Jef’s siblings, knowing that they have rejected his past girlfriends. His older brother hints that she might be the kind of woman to motivate this on-the-go bachelor to settle down. But even if his brothers and sisters warm up to her, do they think she is the right fit for their family? Jef has one more surprise for Emily – and it’s one of the most romantic hometown moments in Bachelorette history. But will it be enough to seal the deal for the next rose?

Emily goes for a real change of pace when she meets Arie, the professional race car driver, at an Arizona racetrack. When he arrives in a racecar, Emily is up for the challenge of riding with him. The couple’s breathtaking spin around the track, leaves Emily happy and exhilarated. But Arie is very anxious about the potential culture clash between her and his very European family – especially his skeptical mother. He is right to worry. As if she weren’t already uncomfortable, Emily feels completely excluded when Arie’s family begins speaking Dutch in front on her. Will a heart-to-heart talk between the Bachelorette and Arie’s mother save this hometown date from turning into a disaster?

Finally, Emily journeys to Dallas, the home of the tall, handsome bachelor Sean, who seems to be everything she has always wanted in a husband. As they spend the morning picnicking in the park, he explains about his last failed relationship and reveals that he has vowed never to become serious with another woman unless he was going to spend his life with her. Emily is very impressed with Sean’s honesty, but she is in for a rude awakening. He reveals a painfully embarrassing secret once he brings her to his parent’s home. Is this the end for Emily’s supposedly perfect guy?

Emily’s feelings have deepened for all four bachelors, so when she returns to Los Angeles for the rose ceremony, she is faced with the impossible decision to let one man go. However, she sadly does say good-bye to one stunned and heartbroken bachelor. The Bachelorette and final three men get ready to leave for their next exotic destination — Curacao – where Emily will need to face the dilemma of the overnight dates.

The four remaining men are:
Arie, 30, a race car driver from Scottsdale, AZ
Chris, 25, a corporate sales director from Chicago, IL
Jef, 27, an entrepreneur from Salt Lake City, UT
Sean, 28, an insurance agent from Dallas, TX

Hosted by Chris Harrison, “The Bachelorette” is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are executive producers. “The Bachelorette” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with stereo sound. This program carries a TV-PG,L parental guideline.

EMILY TAKES THE FINAL SIX MEN ON A SPECTACULAR TRIP TO PRAGUE, AS THE CRUCIAL HOMETOWN DATES LOOM, ON ABC’S “THE BACHELORETTE”

June 19, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

The Truth is Revealed About Arie’s Past Relationship with One of the Show’s Producers
“Episode 807” – The pressure mounts as Emily must determine which four men will have the opportunity to take her home to meet their families. Prague, the picturesque capital of the Czech Republic will serve as the backdrop for Emily’s most important decision yet. However, there is something that has been weighing on Emily’s mind a lot lately about Arie, and she aims to get it straightened out once and for all: what exactly happened between this handsome race car driver and one of the show’s producers? The only rose up for grabs this week will be on the group date, and that man will be guaranteed a hometown visit, which only ratchets up the drama. How far will desperate bachelors go to make their fantasy come true? Chris is on the verge of a breakdown by rose ceremony time, but Emily is confident who the final four should be, on “The Bachelorette,” MONDAY, JUNE 25 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
Once the men arrive at the beautiful Aria Hotel, a thrilled Arie learns that he will get the first date. Emily and Arie take a romantic excursion through Prague, but all the while, he is trying to gather the courage to tell her he is in love with her. But during this day, Emily, who had learned from her own producer that she had a brief romantic relationship with Arie some years ago, is determined to find out why this bachelor is holding back that secret from her. What else might he be hiding? A disturbed Emily tries to get to the heart of the matter at lunch, but Arie avoids the obvious clues she throws out to entice him to discuss the unusual situation. Will there be an honest heart-to-heart conversation between the three people in this drama? And how will that affect Emily’s decision about giving him a hometown date? That night, when the couple dines aboard a riverboat on the Vltava River, the love-struck bachelor opens his heart and lets Emily know how he feels, but does Emily feel the same way toward him now?
Emily joins John at the famous Lennon wall, which displays an ever-changing presentation of John Lennon-inspired graffiti, serving as symbol of peace and love. The two enjoy adding their personal touches to the iconic wall, but Emily is concerned that John seems unable to open up to her emotionally. At last, John explains to her the reason for his tough demeanor. Will Emily sympathize with him and will they finally bond, or is it too little, too late for the handsome suitor?
When the group date card arrives, Chris is crushed when he learns that he will be joining two other bachelors on the date. Despite his visible anguish, it is actually another more impulsive man from this group who will slip out of the hotel and look for Emily on the quiet Prague streets. After anxiously searching, the desperate suitor finds Emily and they share a sexy late-night rendezvous.
Despite a gorgeous setting at a majestic castle in the hills outside Prague, Emily’s plans for a romantic group date outing go awry when one man’s reticent behavior toward her turns awkward. Will his panicky attempts to try and turn up the passion succeed, or will there be another decisive move on Emily’s part? Later that night, with a rose and a hometown date on the line, tensions rise as the men vie for her attention. One man ardently romances her, but Chris spends his time chastising Emily for not giving him a one-on-one date. Emily finally gives the rose to the bachelor who most impressed her.
A suddenly flirtatious Jef pulls the right strings when he and Emily visit a marionette shop and then a historic library, where they use the marionettes to sweetly re-enact their dating history. Although Emily finds that her feelings are growing for the funny man, she now needs to figure out if she is falling in love with more than one bachelor. The men proceed to the cocktail party, hoping to have one last conversation with Emily before she decides who will get a hometown date. Chris especially wants to apologize for his ungallant behavior on the group date. Unfortunately, Chris Harrison informs them that there will be no party. Emily already knows who the lucky guys will be.
In the most dramatic rose ceremony so far this season, Chris, on the verge of a breakdown, does something drastic to try and save himself. After the Bachelorette announces her decision, it is time for the four very happy remaining men to return to the States and introduce Emily to their families, continuing their quest to win her heart.
The six remaining men are:
Arie, 30, a race car driver from Scottsdale, AZ
Chris, 25, a corporate sales director from Chicago, IL
Doug, 33, a charity director/realtor from Seattle, WA
Jef, 27, an entrepreneur from Salt Lake City, UT
John “Wolf,” 30, a data destruction specialist from St. Louis, MO
Sean, 28, an insurance agent from Dallas, TX
Hosted by Chris Harrison, “The Bachelorette” is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. EMILY TAKES HER FUTURE IN HER OWN HANDS, AS SHE MAKES BACHELORETTE HISTORY WITH HER ROSE SELECTIONS, ON ABC’S “THE BACHELORETTE”

“Episode 806” – The medieval town of Dubrovnik supplies the beauty, and Emily and the remaining eight men provide the fireworks as the romantic world tour continues. The bachelors are hoping that Emily finally will see through Ryan’s bold faade when they go on a one-on-one date. Arie decides to break the rules and risks sneaking out of the guys’ suite to see Emily, but what kind of reception will he get? A group date starts with a special sneak peek screening of the new Disney¥Pixar film “Brave,” but the guys find out that they need to compete for Emily’s attention by dressing in kilts and performing in their own version of the Highland Games, just like in the movie. Finally at the rose ceremony, Emily continues to make bold moves to ensure her future happiness and also makes Bachelorette history, on “The Bachelorette,” MONDAY, JUNE 18 (8:00-10:02 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Although sad to be without her daughter for the first time during this journey, Emily is looking forward to putting the drama of last week behind her and enjoying this magnificent city with her guys. As the men arrive at their suite at the Radisson Blue Resort and Spa, Emily delivers the first date card herself, inviting Travis to “look for love beyond the walls.” The couple explore old town – buying souvenirs, walking the ramparts of the walled city and dancing to local music. Later that evening, at a romantic dinner spot in an ancient fort, Travis opens up about the broken engagement in his past. Will his touching story heat things up with Emily or will he be sent home without a rose?

The next day, six men meet Emily in old town Dubrovnik, where she takes them to a breathtaking historic theater. There they are treated to a VIP sneak peek of Disney¥Pixar’s highly anticipated new film “Brave” (in theaters June 22). The men had better be paying attention because afterwards, mimicking the movie, they will be asked to dress in kilts and compete in their own Highland Games. The bachelors fire arrows, throw logs and test each other’s strength. Although one bachelor dominates the competition, another wins over Emily with his persistence in the face of defeat. The after party finds one handsome man taking Emily on an intimate walk and talk in the streets of Dubrovnik, while another brave suitor offers the Bachelorette his heart.

Ryan is raring to go on his one-on-one date with Emily. She has her own doubts about this charismatic charmer, but wants to keep an open mind. After a romantic drive up the Adriatic coast, stopping to take photos, meet the locals and even harvest oysters, they return to town for an intimate dinner, and Ryan lays out all the qualities he is looking for in a wife. Does Emily fit the bill? This smooth-talking bachelor won’t take “no” for an answer, but will this confident suitor be able to sell Emily on his vision on their future life together?

And later that night, Arie can’t resist slinking out of the hotel to pay Emily a visit. She invites him in and after he kisses her goodnight, he realizes he is falling in love.

Some of the more anxious men use the cocktail party to plead their cases, as one bachelor reveals his vulnerable side while another one assures Emily that he would be her best choice. Emily remains conflicted over which men should receive roses and walks out of the room with the final rose in her hand. How she resolves the problem makes Bachelorette history. The hometown dates loom ahead as the six remaining men and Emily toast to their next spectacular destination: Prague.

The eight remaining men are:
Arie, 30, a race car driver from Scottsdale, AZ
Chris, 25, a corporate sales director from Chicago, IL
Doug, 33, a charity director/realtor from Seattle, WA
Jef, 27, an entrepreneur from Salt Lake City, UT
John “Wolf,” 30, a data destruction specialist from St. Louis, MO
Ryan, 31, a pro sports trainer from Augusta, GA
Sean, 28, an insurance agent from Dallas, TX
Travis, 31, an advertising sales representative from Madison, MS

Hosted by Chris Harrison, “The Bachelorette” is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are executive producers. “The Bachelorette” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with stereo sound. FIREWORKS EXPLODE IN LONDON AS EMILY CONFRONTS ONE BACHELOR FOR
A DISPARAGING REMARK ABOUT HER DAUGHTER AND WONDERS WHY SHE WAS
THE LAST TO FIND OUT ABOUT THIS MAN, ON ABC’S “THE BACHELORETTE”

Eight Men Put on a Show in Stratford-upon-Avon, and a Tour of City Ends with Emily
and One Handsome Bachelor in a Romantic Lock-up in the Tower of London

“Episode 805” – Explosive drama underlines the group’s trip to historic London. From Buckingham Palace to the Tower of London, Emily and Sean share the romance of the city. Shakespearian theatre will never be the same once eight men on a group date invade the Bard’s birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon, to perform classic scenes from “Romeo and Juliet.” However, the after party turns from going to a pub for a brew to a brawl when Emily discovers that one of the men has made a disrespectful comment about her daughter, Ricki. Not only does Emily confront the offender, but she finds none of the other men support her and ends up making some stunning decisions. Jef and Emily have a proper English tea, but decide to ditch their stern etiquette teacher and escape to a local pub. Trying to put the drama about her daughter aside, she takes Jef to one of the most romantic spots in the city – the London Eye, a gigantic Ferris wheel on the banks of the Thames River. But Emily makes it her personal mission at the cocktail party to find out which guys knew about the offensive comment and why they didn’t warn her earlier about the insulting bachelor. Do any of these men have her back? She needs to find out and fast, as the group travels to Croatia next, on “The Bachelorette,” MONDAY, JUNE 11 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

For her first one-on-one date of the week, Emily and Sean jump onto one of the iconic double-decker buses to tour the city. They share a romantic kiss at Buckingham Palace where Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, exchanged their public kisses as man and wife. Later that night, the couple share a private dinner locked inside the Tower of London. Emily seems smitten with her date, but will Sean be able to unlock her heart and get the rose?

The next morning eight lucky bachelors meet Emily at Stratford-upon-Avon on a group date. Some of men embrace the opportunity to become thespians for the day, acting in scenes from Shakepeare’s famous “Romeo and Juliet.” Emily hopes they all have a blast, since part of being a parent is learning to go with the flow. A confident Ryan relishes playing Romeo and having the opportunity to kiss Emily for the first time. Arie is terrified when he discovers he must dress like a woman to portray the nurse. Kalon is so fixated on his performance, he shoos Emily away so he can get more rehearsal time. The live audience that gathers gets a lot of laughs as the men perform their scenes with Emily playing Juliet, but Ryan’s kiss as Romeo rocks the rest of the guys to their core.

That night, when the group go to a local pub to celebrate their “reviews,” a fun time turns into a debacle. A brave bachelor tells Emily about an insulting remark one man made about her daughter and it becomes public knowledge. She confronts the thoughtless guy. Disheartened that any of her suitors would say such a horrible thing and discouraged that none of the other men stand by her in the confrontation, Emily makes some startling decisions.

Attempting to put the situation behind her, Emily tries to teach Jef the proper English way to have afternoon tea, but when the etiquette class becomes too much, they run to a local pub and then to the London Eye – one of the city’s iconic landmarks and symbol of modern Britain. Will Jef finally make his move and kiss Emily, or will he fail to seize the moment?

At the dramatic cocktail party, Emily is totally focused on grilling the men. Who knew about the disrespectful comment and why did no one alert her earlier about the boorish bachelor who made it? Arie, in particular, is put on the hot seat. Where is the man she can look to as a husband and a stepfather to her daughter? She is beginning to wonder if any of these guys can fill the bill. After the rose ceremony, eight men remain to travel onto one of Europe’s most beautiful countries: Croatia.

The 10 remaining men are:
Alejandro, 24, a mushroom farmer from San Francisco, CA
Arie, 30, a race car driver from Scottsdale, AZ
Chris, 25, a corporate sales director from Chicago, IL
Doug, 33, a charity director/realtor from Seattle, WA
Jef, 27, an entrepreneur from Salt Lake City, UT
John “Wolf,” 30, a data destruction specialist from St. Louis, MO
Kalon, 27, a luxury brand consultant from Houston, TX
Ryan, 31, a pro sports trainer from Augusta, GA
Sean, 28, an insurance agent from Dallas, TX
Travis, 30, an advertising sales representative from Madison, MS

Hosted by Chris Harrison, “The Bachelorette” is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. OF FAITH, JUMPING OFF A CLIFF, ON ABC’S “THE BACHELORETTE”
John and Nate’s Dramatic Two-on-One Date Guarantees One Man a Ticket Home

“Episode 804” – Thirteen excited bachelors start the trip of a lifetime with Emily, as their tour begins in the British island paradise of Bermuda. Emily and Ricki embrace the local culture while the men arrive via scooter. John and Nate are pitted against one another on the dreaded two-on-one date as the trio board a luxury yacht before jumping off the edge of a cliff. Doug shares a delightful one-on-one date with Emily as they explore the picturesque city of St. George. The seaworthy group date finds eight men on sailboats competing in a spirited regatta for extra time with the Bachelorette. Finally, it all culminates on a night where the inclement weather rolls in along with drama at the cocktail party. Two
men face off as nerves are fraying before the tense rose ceremony and tearful bachelors are eliminated before the lucky group of remaining men travel to London, on “The Bachelorette,” MONDAY, JUNE 4 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
Once the men arrive at the Rosewood Tucker’s Point Hotel and Spa, a jubilant Doug discovers that he will spend the day alone with Emily. As he waits for Emily to pick him up, a few of the guys decide to “push his buttons,” and Doug loses his cool. But will he let his temper show in front of the Bachelorette? The couple spend the day discovering the magic of St. George, shopping for souvenirs, creating their own scent at a perfumeria and having a blast watching some local dancers. But Emily has a surprise for Doug that will have special meaning to him. However, that doesn’t stop her from grilling him over dinner to find out if he is too good to be true. Will she believe his “perfect” answers and give him a rose or send him home?

The next day Emily treats eight men to a special day on the water at the Bermuda Yacht Club, where they learn proper sailing techniques. It’s a breeze until they discover that they need to compete in races against one another. The stakes are ratcheted up as the winning team will be rewarded with more time with Emily while the losing team goes back to the hotel. It’s an all out battle, but one team is left to celebrate with Emily on the dock while the other team sulks as they leave. The after party is full of surprises, as one handsome bachelor tries to impress the Bachelorette by referring to her as a possible “trophy wife,” but it is actually another smooth-talking man who charms her and scores the rose.

Two nervous bachelors – John and Nate – prepare to go on the dramatic two-on-one date. They board a luxury yacht, joining Emily to enjoy the beautiful Bermudian scenery before they head for a remote spot where they all jump off the ledge of a cliff into the crystal blue waters below. The three head to Bermuda’s oldest cave for dinner where Emily spends private time with each man, desperately trying to decide who would be better for her. At the end of the evening, she makes a painful decision, sending one devastated man home, while the other bachelor gets the rose.

Anxiety hangs over the cocktail party like the stormy weather that is about to hit the area. One overconfident suitor begins to rub the guys the wrong way, while another bachelor confronts a man who had questioned his age and maturity. At the end of the evening, 10 men remain, and it will be up to Emily to determine if she is in love with any of them when they get to their next spectacular stop on the adventure — London.

The 13 remaining men are:
Alejandro, 24, a mushroom farmer from San Francisco, CA

EMILY BEGINS HER SEARCH FOR THAT ONE SPECIAL MAN WHEN “THE BACHELORETTE” PREMIERES, MONDAY, MAY 14, ON ABC

May 1, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

Emily’s Suitors Are Revealed… Who is the Mystery Man in the Helicopter?
What do an athletic stud who says all the right things, a dashing Indy car driver who would like to take a victory lap, a skateboarding hipster who likes a good chase, a successful businessman who loves to make a huge first impression, and a single hunky dad whom you’d like to bring home to mother all have in common? They’re all on the hunt for the new Bachelorette, Emily Maynard, when the eighth edition of the female version of ABC’s popular romance reality series, “The Bachelorette,” premieres MONDAY, MAY 14 (9:31-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Emily, 26, a single mom who lives with her six-year-old daughter Ricki in Charlotte, North Carolina, meets 25 potential soul mates as she begins her own search for true love. In the premiere, “Episode 801,” 25 eligible men come from all over to try and win Emily’s heart. Immediately, the drama and the one-upsmanship begin: Emily is hit with a bad case of nerves, but that anxiety melts away as soon as the men start to compete to impress her. Tony makes like Prince Charming and presents her with a glass slipper. Jef, a successful entrepreneur, springs onto the scene on a skateboard. Party MC Stevie shows off his “can’t miss” dance moves. Travis offers a gift with a special meaning for Emily and her daughter. However Kalon is not to be outdone and lands in his private helicopter, much to the chagrin of the other men.
The battle for Emily’s attention and affection has only begun. Once inside the mansion, Kyle, a confident financial advisor, is eager to captivate Emily, but Brent, a single father of six, is busy showing off his voluminous collection of family photos. Chris, the handsome sales director, makes his mark with some custom bobble head dolls. But Arie, a professional race car driver, is nervous to share his career with Emily – fearing that it will remind her of her late fiancé, Ricky Hendrick. And Doug, another single dad, shares a tender moment with the Bachelorette, bringing with him a touching letter from his 11-year-old son.
After Chris Harrison reveals the first impression rose, the tension mounts and sparks fly. Stevie, the brash entertainer, confronts Kalon, the grandstanding wealthy suitor, accusing him of being selfish and insincere. Emily, unaware of the friction between the bachelors, is wooed away by the skateboarding Jef, who exudes a soft-spoken confidence that impresses her. Emily finally offers the first rose to a bachelor who was so charming that it would be hard for any of the men to argue with her choice.
One bachelor could relax, but 24 others are very anxious as the season’s first rose ceremony begins. Finally, Emily will have the 19 men who will move into the southern mansion.
Emily’s 25 suitors are:
Aaron, 36, a biology teacher from Long Beach, CA
Alessandro, 30, a grain merchant from St. Paul, MN
Alejandro, 25, a mushroom farmer from San Francisco, CA
Arie, 30, a race car driver from Scottsdale, AZ
Brent, 41, a technology salesman from Fresno, CA
Charlie, 32, a recruiter from Nashville, TN
Chris, 25, a corporate sales director from Chicago, IL
David, 33, a singer/songwriter from New York, NY
Doug, 33, a real estate agent from Seattle, WA
Jackson, 29, a fitness model from Lockport, IL
Jean-Paul, 35, a marine biologist from Seattle, WA
Jef, 27, an entrepreneur from Salt Lake City, UT

FAN FAVORITE EMILY MAYNARD – THE FIRST SINGLE MOM IN “BACHELORETTE” SERIES HISTORY – BEGINS HER OWN SEARCH FOR LOVE IN CHARLOTTE, WHEN THE EIGHTH EDITION OF THE HIT ROMANCE REALITY SERIES, “THE BACHELORETTE,” PREMIERES MONDAY, MAY 14, ON ABC

This Season’s Highlights Include Extraordinary Trips to Bermuda, London, Dubrovnik and Prague, Special Concerts by Eight-Time Grammy Award-Winner Dolly Parton, Hit Country Band Gloriana
And Country Star Luke Bryant, Plus a Scene-Stealing Performance by The Muppets

Emily Maynard, the beautiful, sweet, young mom who captured America’s and Brad Womack’s heart on the 15th season of “The Bachelor,” finally thought she had her happy ending. She accepted Brad’s proposal but unfortunately their relationship ended, along with her dream of moving to Austin with her daughter, Ricki, and starting a family. But Emily is ready for her luck to change and to bring her the love she so richly deserves. It’s hard to meet men as a single mom, but Emily will have her pick of 25 bachelors when she gets a second opportunity to find love starring in the eighth edition of “The Bachelorette,” the female version of ABC’s hit romance reality series, premiering MONDAY,
MAY 14 (9:31-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Instantly popular with “Bachelor” fans, Emily’s strength, passion and southern charm – as a mother and as a woman – would make anyone happy to make her his wife. She feels incredibly grateful to have found her first love when she was very young, although her fiancŽ, famed NASCAR driver and team owner Ricky Hendrick, tragically died in a plane crash. She then discovered she was pregnant with their child, the apple of her eye – Ricki. Despite not having dated a lot, Emily, 26, knows what it’s like to be truly in love. In the past seven years, she has been looking for someone with the same spark she has for life, and she believes that she will find her soul mate on “The Bachelorette.”

On the premiere, “Episode 801,” Emily’s journey begins in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, where she lives with her six-year-old daughter, Ricki. After saying “good night” to Ricki, Emily arrives at a southern mansion where she meets her 25 potential soulmates who have traveled across the country. They include a biology teacher, a mushroom farmer, a marine biologist and a ex-professional football player. Emily is nervous, but her anxiety slips away and soon turns to laughter as a single dad produces a glass slipper and proclaims her a princess; a youthful entrepreneur swoops in on a skateboard; a party MC shows off his dance moves; and a southern gentleman brings something special that symbolizes his dedication to protecting her and Ricki. But although one man’s grand entrance in a helicopter impresses Emily, it only makes him a target of jealousy and ridicule from the other bachelors.

Inside the mansion, the battle is on among the eager suitors vying for the attention of the southern belle. A confident man is eager to charm Emily, but he is upstaged by a single father of six excited to show off his family photos to her. One handsome man wins her over with a pair of custom bobble head dolls, but another bachelor is extremely nervous when he reveals his career, fearing that it will remind her of her late fiance. The night turns more emotional when another single dad brings her a heartwarming letter from his 11-year-old son. The competition erupts into a full-fledged competition when Chris Harrison brings out the coveted first impression rose. A tough-talking entertainer confronts the wealthy suitor who dropped in via helicopter, accusing him of being selfish and insincere. But unaware of the tension, Emily is stolen away by the skateboarder, whose soft-spoken and self-confident ways impress her. Everyone holds their breath as Emily gives out the first impression rose to one charming bachelor, but no one can blame her for choosing him. By the end of the night, Emily will have 19 men left to compete for her affections and, in the end, her heart.

A list of bachelors will be released shortly.

Emily’s hunt for Mr. Right will take place during some of the most romantic and adventurous dates ever, with exciting surprises in store for both her and her bachelors as they travel around the world for intimate dates in Bermuda, London, Dubrovnik, Prague and other exciting locations. A jam packed schedule in Charlotte has Emily taking one lucky man to an exclusive red carpet affair, including a romantic dinner for two and a special concert by hit country band Gloriana. Emily may have to kiss one more frog to get her prince as she and a group of bachelors perform live for a worthy cause with The Muppets, including Kermit and Miss Piggy. Country music star Luke Bryan serenades Emily and one handsome bachelor, but only after the two attempt to scale a tall building. Even Emily’s best friends get to grill 12 of the men and put them to the test in a park full of children. In a delightful surprise to both Emily and one of the men, they travel to one of Emily’s favorite places – Dollywood — and are serenaded by none other than the Queen of Country herself, Dolly Parton.

Then Emily and the remaining men journey to beautiful Bermuda. But three bachelors will not be leaving the Bermuda Triangle with her at the end of their stay. The bachelorette then whisks the remaining men across the Atlantic to London for a week of royal romance, including a double-decker bus tour of Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park and a very special dinner with one lucky guy in the Tower of London. A group of the bachelors do their best to harness their inner thespians as they rehearse and perform scenes from “Romeo and Juliet” in Stratford-on-Avon. Historic and picturesque Dubrovnik is the backdrop for the group’s next set of romantic adventures. After a sneak peek at the next eagerly awaited Pixar film, “Brave,” a group of spirited bachelors compete in a round of Highland games in order to win extra time with Emily. The magnificent city of Prague plays host to Emily and her remaining men as they variously have a private dinner cruise down the Vltava River, explore a medieval castle and even have a date to marionette shop and visit the Lennon Wall of Love and a spooky dungeon. Finally, after the crucial hometown dates, three lucky men travel with Emily to an exotic destination for some of the most intimate and sensual overnight dates ever. Emily will have traveled the world again for love, but will she finally make her own fairytale come true?

As in the past, men will continue to be eliminated each week, but if at any point along the way a bachelor should decide that he’s no longer interested in the Bachelorette, he can reject her invitation to continue dating. Two lucky men will meet her family, and she will visit the final bachelors’ hometowns for a slice of their lives in an effort to determine the man with whom she is most compatible — but there are surprises in store for Emily that will shake her world. At the end of the journey, the Bachelorette may quite possibly have found true love. But the big question is: After all of this, will he pop the question, and will she say yes?

Hosted by Chris Harrison, “The Bachelorette” is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers. “The Bachelorette” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with stereo sound. A TV parental guideline will be posted closer to airdate.

ABC announces the next “Bachelorette”

FAN FAVORITE EMILY MAYNARD BECOMES THE FIRST SINGLE MOM TO STAR
ON ABC’S “THE BACHELORETTE” WHEN IT RETURNS THIS SPRING

Emily Maynard, the beautiful, sweet, young mom who captured America’s and Brad Womack’s heart on the 15th season of “The Bachelor,” finally thought she had her happy ending. She accepted Brad’s proposal and was looking forward to walking down the aisle. Unfortunately her relationship with Brad ended, along with her dream of moving to Austin with her daughter, Ricki, and starting a family. But Emily is ready for her luck to change and to bring her the love she so richly deserves. It’s hard to meet men as a single mom, but Emily will have her pick of 25 bachelors when she gets a second opportunity to find love starring in the eighth edition of “The Bachelorette” when it premieres this spring on the ABC Television Network.

Emily, 25, led a tragic but fulfilling life before meeting Brad. In 2004 she became engaged to famed NASCAR driver and team owner Ricky Hendrick. Sadly Hendrick died in a plane crash in October, 2004, leaving his fiancée pregnant with their child. The apple of Emily’s eye and legacy of their love, Josephine Riddick “Ricki” Hendrick was born June 29, 2005.

Instantly popular with “Bachelor” fans, Emily’s strength, passion and southern charm – as a mother and as a woman – would make anyone happy to make her his wife. She found love again with Brad and, even though it didn’t work out, she knows that the series can work. Among those 25 men, she is looking for someone who makes her laugh, doesn’t take himself too seriously and can be her best friend. Emily is hoping that the third time is the charm.

The Morgantown, West Virginia native who now resides in Charlotte, NC is a full-time mommy, which is something she has always wanted. Ricki, who is six years old, is a perfect blend of both her mother and father in looks and personality. Emily cherishes the unconditional love they share, which makes her smile all the time, and knows that the time they share together will serve as memories that Ricki will have forever. As busy as she is as a full time mom, Emily finds the time to do volunteer work. Her particular interest is in helping children. She has given her time to the Hendrick Marrow program, Levine Children’s Hospital, the lunch buddy program at Hidden Valley Middle School, and most recently to a jewelry class she is teaching at an underfunded middle school. Next on her list is a mission trip to Africa.

Emily feels incredibly grateful to have found her first love when she was very young, and despite not having dated a lot, knows what it’s like to be truly in love. In the past seven years, she has been looking for someone with the same spark she has for life, and she believes that she will find her soul mate on “The Bachelorette.”

Hosted by Chris Harrison, “The Bachelorette” is produced by Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers.
