OXYGEN MEDIA GREENLIGHTS AUTHENTIC NEW DOCU-SERIES

“PASTORS OF L.A.” SET TO PREMIERE FALL 2013

FROM THE CREATOR & EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF BET’S “VINDICATED”

AND THE EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF “THE SHEARDS”

NEW YORK – May 13, 2013 Oxygen Media has teamed up with Lemuel Plummer, the creator and executive producer of “Vindicated” and producer of “The Sheards,” and Holly Carter, creator and executive producer of “106 & Gospel” and executive producer of “The Sheards,” for the network’s latest series greenlight, “Pastors of L.A.” (working title), an authentic new docu-series set to premiere in the fall of 2013. “Pastors of L.A.” will give viewers a candid and revealing look at six boldly different and world renowned mega-pastors in Southern California, who are willing to share diverse aspects of their lives, from their work in the community and with their parishioners to the very large and sometimes provocative lives they lead away from the pulpit.

“‘Pastors of L.A.’ documents these larger than life characters who are rock stars in their communities, with a fresh, unique perspective that will resonate with our young audience,” said Rod Aissa, Senior Vice President of Original Programming and Development, Oxygen Media. “By teaming up with Lemuel and Holly who are some of the best creative minds in the business and heavily respected within this community, we can deliver this authentic series with integrity, while also staying right on brand with Oxygen.”

“We are delighted to work with Oxygen to develop this groundbreaking series on the extraordinary lives of some of the most prominent pastors in America,” said Lemuel Plummer. “I come to this project with a respect and understanding of their world, having grown up as the son of a pastor and religious broadcasters. We intend to portray the human side of these pastors and the real world in which they live and work.”

“This show documents a journey of transparency from one man to the next as they endeavor to lead others to their own truth and self-discovery,” adds Holly Carter who holds a doctorate of divinity with an emphasis on marketplace ministry and is the daughter of a pastor and an industry veteran in faith and inspirational development and programming. “It’s a dose of reality and a pound of redemption coming from a creative team reared in the church.”

MEET THE CAST OF “PASTORS OF L.A.”:

Bishop Noel Jones (@BishopNoelJones)

A Jamaican born into poverty, Bishop Noel Jones has made his way to the other extreme, now living on a hilltop with a view of the Pacific Ocean, Malibu at his feet, and across the street from the former home of the late L.A. Lakers owner, Jerry Buss. The pastor of a church full of celebrities, and the brother of Grace Jones, Bishop Jones is headed towards retirement and looking for a successor who he can entrust his life’s work. But finding the right man is harder than it sounds.

Deitrick Haddon (@DeitrickHaddon)

The son of a bishop and an evangelist, Deitrick was preaching at the age of eleven and conducting the church choir at thirteen. At twenty-three he married the woman he was expected to marry – the lead soprano of the church choir. However, everything didn’t continue as perfectly as the church had hoped. Deitrick and his wife got a divorce and the members of the church shunned him. Aside from the call on his life, the one thing that helped him from hitting rock bottom was his music. A dynamic personality, singer, songwriter, and preacher, Deitrick finds himself at an impasse in life. Which road will he choose?

Bishop Clarence McClendon (@BishopMcClendon)

Bishop Clarence McClendon appears throughout the world on his weekly international broadcast, which is available in 250 million homes worldwide. This charismatic and ubiquitous bishop has been noted for his contemporary and relevant approach to the Gospel. He believes the Gospel is not only for the down and out but for the up and out. His ministry spans from skid row to the estates of Bel Air. When challenged about what many have called his prosperity Gospel, Bishop replies, “there is no other kind of Gospel.”

Pastor Wayne Chaney

At the age of twenty he got the call from God and has grown to become a prominent pastor of the church his grandfather built. Fast-forward 10 years later, Antioch is the leading church in its community. With an ability to communicate complex truths in a simple way, Pastor Chaney has helped remarkably grow the church, along with the help of his secret weapon, his wife, gospel artist Myeshia Chaney. While Antioch is poised to become the next mega-church with the ability to reach millions worldwide, there’s an obstacle in the way and it comes from within Pastor Wayne’s own family.

Bishop Ron Gibson

Born in Compton, addicted to drugs before he was a teenager, a leader of the Crips by the time he was sixteen, a robber and a pimp, Bishop Ron Gibson was the least likely person to end up a preacher. He now changes the lives of 4,500 people each week at the Life Church of God in Christ, which he started with only nine people in the congregation. Through it all he’s accumulated great wealth, power and purpose. However, there’s one thing he and his wife would give it all away for – a child.

Pastor Jay Haizlip (@jayhaizlip)

One of the pioneering greats of competitive skateboarding, Pastor Jay Haizlip, originally from Gadsden, Alabama, collected big trophies, bigger paychecks and high-end sponsors, but fell deep into drugs, and into the crack houses of Huntington Beach and Long Beach, California. Back in the crack houses again, this time he’s not there for drugs – he’s helping rescue souls for the Kingdom. Serving as Senior Pastor of The Sanctuary of Huntington Beach, Pastor Jay Haizlip reaches out to troubled youth, finding them in prisons, skate parks and the same crack houses he once shot dope in.

“Pastors of L.A.” (working title) is produced by L. Plummer Media in association with Relevé Entertainment, with Lemuel Plummer, Holly Carter and Chris Costine serving as Executive Producers.

A Conference Call With Eliminated Hopeful Aleksandra To Take Place Today at 1pm ET/10am PT

NEW YORK – February 13, 2013 – The rivalry has officially begun on Oxygen Media’s new high-stakes, modeling competition series, “The Face,” which launched with a premiere roadblock on Oxygen, Bravo and Style last night (Tuesday, February 12th at 9pm ET/PT). The twelve aspiring models were pitted against one another in their first Test Shoot challenge titled “Who Wore It Better,” led by Naomi. After Zi Lin from Team Naomi took home the coveted $5,000 Top Shop shopping spree, the other aspiring models began to feel the pressure. Then, one of fashion’s most prestigious publications, W magazine, kicked-off the show’s first Campaign challenge where teams had to complete the last frame of a storyboard through their interpretation and then create that in a photo shoot with legendary photographer Patrick Demarchelier. Guest judges Stefano Tonchi, W magazine’s Editor in Chief, Bookings Editor Claudine Ingenieri and legendary model agent Bethann Hardison selected Team Karolina as the winning photo, leaving Supermodel Coaches Naomi Campbell and Coco Rocha with the task of putting one of their girls up for elimination.

With inexperience working against her, Stephanie from Team Coco went up for elimination against Naomi’s Aleksandra, who was struggling to follow the direction of her mentor and photographer throughout the Campaign challenge. With these young women’s fate in Karolina’s hands, it was Stephanie’s eagerness to learn that swayed her choice to keep Coco’s girl in the competition, a decision that left tension enormously high with Naomi.

Originally from Murmansk, Russia, Aleksandra, 23, now lives in the United States as she continues to pursue her dreams of becoming a well-known model in the fashion industry. After only a brief time learning from her legendary Supermodel Coach Naomi Campbell, Aleksandra was told she was not “The Face.”

The second installment of the seven episode series airs Tuesday, February 19 at 9 PM ET/PT. In the wake of a tough elimination, Team Naomi implodes as contestants Sandra and Jocelyn wage all-out model warfare against each other. Naomi struggles to bring them together in time for a shoot with designer lingerie label Cosabella, where brand representative Guido Campello serves as special guest judge. The tension is high, but with a $5,000 lingerie makeover at Cosabella’s flagship store on the line, the women must find a way to put their differences aside and work as a team.

Fans of “The Face” can access exclusive content and join the conversation on the show’s social accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Google+ and Pinterest. Fans may tweet or read about the series using #TheFace hashtag on Twitter. The supermodel coaches and host can also be followed via Twitter using @NaomiCampbell, @KarolinaKurkova, @CocoRocha and @NigelBarker.

“The Face” is produced by Shine America with Elisabeth Murdoch, Eden Gaha, Paul Franklin, Andrew Frank and Naomi Campbell serving as executive producers.

Each episode follows two new inspiring and unapologetic women, who were once discounted, humiliated and rejected because of their weight, as they stand up to their bullies and finally get even. After getting healthy, these former ‘fat girls’ get the chance to live out their fantasies and seek payback against their former offenders from ex-boyfriends, former classmates to even members of their own families. For those who inflicted the hurt, revenge is going to be something they never expected, but for these women, this golden opportunity for transformation and retribution will empower them to move forward from their painful past.

“Fat Girl Revenge” is produced by Eyeworks USA, with executive producers JD Roth, Todd A. Nelson, Brant Pinvidic, Adam Kaloustian and Jenn Duncan.

“Find Me My Man”

Formerly known as “Heart & Soul,” this dynamic new dating show centers on the outspoken and no-nonsense Miami matchmaker Natalie Clarice who runs a successful agency helping urban professional women fix their solo status. With her own brand of tough love and in-your-face attitude, she’s determined to crack Miami’s hardest cases and isn’t afraid to tell it like it is to her strong-willed clients, who are hesitant to change their ways. Through unique techniques, Natalie and her team of romance strategists put these stubborn single ladies to the ultimate test to find their match.

NEW YORK – August 8, 2012 – Emotions ran high as the final five contenders of Oxygen’s “The Glee Project” vied for a spot in the highly anticipated season two finale. This week the determined hopefuls were joined by “Glee” star Dianna Agron (Quinn Fabray) for the newly established “Actability” week. Performing “Addicted to Love” by Robert Palmer for the homework assignment, each singer was challenged to emote a designated action that Dianna gave them only minutes before singing. This tested the contenders’ ability to readily adapt and also act out specific emotions on the spot.

Dianna revealed that the contenders would be performing “Perfect” by P!nk for the music video shoot, where they would film scenes for a fictional movie trailer. With the stakes high and the bar raised, each contender stepped into their character to prove themselves ready for “The Glee Project” finale. Then the judges revealed that all five contenders would have to sing last chance performances for not only Ryan Murphy and the on-air mentors, but also the entire writing team from “Glee.”

Performing under intense circumstances, Lily Mae sang “Son Of A Preacher Man” made famous by Dusty Springfield, Michael sang “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper, Blake took on “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John, Ali performed “Here’s to Us” by Halestorm and Aylin sang “Fighter” by Christina Aguilera. With the stakes so high, the group of writers alongside Ryan Murphy chose to eliminate two contenders – Lily Mae Harrington (18) of Cape Cod, Massachusetts and Michael Weisman (18) of Chicago, Illinois.

Lily Mae comes from a strong musical background with over six years of musical theater experience. She has been involved in the music world her entire life and has performed for over 2,500 people at the Symphony Hall in Boston. She is currently enrolled as a student at the Westminster Choir College. Lily Mae originally auditioned for “The Glee Project” online and at the New York City open casting call.

With over eight years of performance experience, Michael is also highly involved in the music scene. He performed at the House of Blues in Chicago, traveled half way around the world to perform in Tokyo and was a Paul Green School of Rock Chicago All Star. Michael was discovered through industry channels to audition for “The Glee Project.”

In “The Glee Project” season two finale on Tuesday, August 14th at 10pm ET/PT, the final three contenders – Aylin, Blake and Ali – vie for a seven episode arc on “Glee.” Joining the finalists is “Glee” series regular Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel) who will mentor the contenders through “Glee-ality” week. The competitors will bring everything they have to the stage for their final performances, including their last homework assignment which is “You Can’t Stop The Beat” from Hairspray.

The star-studded night continues online directly after at 11pm ET as season one winner, Damian McGinty, hosts “The Glee Project Live Reunion.” The final five contenders will be with Damian live in New York while additional cast members from season two will join via live video on the Watchitoo platform to participate and answer fan questions. Also making a special appearance will be the cast from “All the Right Moves,” joining the Live Reunion to chat with fans on Oxygen.com.

Fans can tweet their questions to @TheGleeProject or submit live video questions the night of the event at Oxygen.com.

A print conference call with Lily Mae Harrington and Michael Weisman will take place today, August 8 at 1pm PT/4pm ET. For call information, please contact Voncella McIntosh at Voncella.McIntosh@nbcuni.com or Morgan Di Stefano at Morgan.DiStefano@nbcuni.com

“The Glee Project” is produced by Ryan Murphy Television and Embassy Row with Ryan Murphy, Dante Di Loreto, Michael Davies and Shauna Minoprio serving as executive producers.

OXYGEN’S “I’M HAVING THEIR BABY” EPISODE 3 AIRS MON, 8/6 AT 11PM ET/PT

August 3, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

NEW YORK –August 3, 2012 – Oxygen Media’s emotional and thought-provoking new docu-series, “I’m Having Their Baby,” premieres its third episode on Monday, August 6 at 11 PM ET/PT. The network’s powerful series gives viewers an intimate look into the world of adoption as documented from the perspective of the birth mother. In Monday’s episode, viewers will be introduced to Jamie, a single mother of three who finds herself pregnant again and concerned if she can afford to raise a fourth. Meanwhile, recent college grad Sydney doesn’t want to be a struggling single mom and makes a controversial choice in adoptive parents. Viewers can join the discussion about this series on Twitter @IHTBonOxygen and post their thoughts with #IHTB. Fans can like the series on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/ImHavingTheirBaby.

Each installment follows two pregnant women who have made the choice to place their babies for adoption and are making the life changing decisions that come next. The hour-long episodes allow viewers to bear witness to not only the adoption process, but the actual birth and heart wrenching final decision that each woman must face. The series documents a range of poignant, personal stories as the women struggle with an unplanned pregnancy and ultimately, decide whether or not to place their baby in the hands of another family. However diverse the case, there is one thing that’s common – each woman wants the brightest future for her unborn child, and a better life for herself.

Propelling the topic of adoption into the national conversation, Oxygen Media recently released a study conducted by Lightspeed Research targeting the insights of women and men on the deeply personal and complex topic of adoption. As viewers will learn in this series, it’s an emotional journey on both ends as it pertains to the birth mother and the potential adoptive parents. The study’s findings reflect a new openness among Americans, and shed light on the true perception that they have about this decision as well as the driving factors that will bring a woman to make this emotional choice.

The survey, which interviewed more than 1,000 people ages 18 to 49, explores a vast range of findings. It reveals that 90 percent of Americans feel the main reason that women choose adoption is teenage pregnancy, yet 91 percent feel that adoption gives the child a chance for a better life with two-thirds feeling the child benefits most (66 percent) with this choice. The results also show that Americans understand this complexity with 90 percent saying that birth parents have the right to change their minds about adoption until the papers have been signed. By the end of each episode when the audience bears witness to the birth mothers’ ultimate decision, it’s all too clear why this percentage is so high.

“I’m Having Their Baby” is produced by Hud:sun Media with Michael Rourke and Michelle Kongkasuwan as executive producers.
