UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – March 14, 2012 – Bethany Hamilton, the surfer and shark attack victim whose inspiring story was made into the feature film “Soul Surfer,” teaches the contestants and trainers how to surf in an action-packed Hawaii episode of “The Biggest Loser” airing Tuesday, March 20 (8-10 p.m. ET).
The eight remaining players – none of whom have ever been to Hawaii — head to the tropical paradise of Oahu for a fun-filled week that will address the excuse “I can’t lose weight on vacation.” There, they meet a young woman who epitomizes this season’s theme of “no excuses” – real-life “Soul Surfer” Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack but was miraculously surfing just a month after the accident. The contestants and trainers are moved and inspired by Hamilton, who encourages them to push fear aside as they all learn to surf, and wind up having the time of their lives.
Then it’s off to a luau, where host Alison Sweeney is waiting with a trivia question challenge that awards the winner a cash prize which can be spent on a menu of items. The temptation to slack off on vacation proves too great for some to resist, despite the trainers’ determination to keep them moving with canoeing, swimming and beach workouts. Later, the players head to the breathtaking Kualoa Ranch where “Jurassic Park” was filmed. The contestants race through a challenge involving tikis and leis for the coveted prize of immunity. Then at Pearl Harbor, with the USS Missouri in the background, the contestants weigh in to reveal whether they were able to lose weight on vacation before another player is sent home.
Born into a family of surfers, Bethany Hamilton jumped on the board at a young age and developed her own passion for the sport. On Halloween morning 2003, she was attacked by a 14-foot tiger shark, which bit off her left arm and seemed to end her career as a rising surf star. After losing more than 60% of her blood and undergoing several surgeries, Hamilton began her recovery with an unbelievably positive attitude. Miraculously, just one month after the attack, she returned to the water. Just over a year later, she won her first National title. In 2007, Hamilton realized her dream and turned pro. She has since participated in numerous Association of Surfing Professionals and World Tour Events, with her major highlight being a second place finish in the ASP 2009 World Junior Championships. Her story was made into the film “Soul Surfer,” which debuted as a major theatrical release in 2011. Now as a professional surfer, Christian, philanthropist, and healthy lifestyle advocate, Bethany continues to touch and inspire lives globally.
“The Biggest Loser” is a production of Reveille, 25/7 Productions and 3 Ball Productions. Ben Silverman, Dave Broome, JD Roth, Todd A. Nelson, Todd Lubin and Alex Katz are the executive producers.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – March 8, 2012 – On March 3, “Saturday Night Live” (2.9 rating, 11 share in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall), with host Lindsay Lohan and musical guest Jack White, dominated its time period with the show’s strongest results this season for a regular 11:30 p.m. ET telecast, behind only the delayed January 7 edition that followed a primetime NFL playoff game (4.1/16 in 18-49, 10.1 million viewers overall, with host Charles Barkley and musical guest Kelly Clarkson).
Excluding that January 7 telecast, this is the top-rated “Saturday Night Live” since last season’s finale on May 21, 2011 (3.7/14 in 18-49, 9.8 million viewers overall, with host Justin Timberlake and musical guest Lady Gaga). Versus the same night last year, “SNL” is up 4 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.9 from a 2.8) and up 1 percent in total viewers (7.429 million vs. 7.345 million).
The March 3 “Saturday Night Live” was the #1 telecast of the night in 18-49 and total viewers ahead of every primetime program on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox. In 18-49, “SNL” more than doubled the top primetime rating on those networks (2.9 vs. a 1.3 for ABC’s special edition of “20/20″).
Season to date, “Saturday Night Live” is matching its year-ago adult 18-49 rating (2.9 vs. 2.9, “most current”) and is running within 1 percent of last year’s pace in total viewers (7.364 million vs. 7.414 million).
JESSICA SIMPSON MAKES A SURPRISE GUEST APPEARANCE AS PART OF THE CHALLENGE REWARD AS THE REMAINING CONTESTANTS BATTLE EACH OTHER ON ICE AND THEN ON THE SCALE ON NBC’S “THE BIGGEST LOSER”, AIRING TUESDAY, MARCH 13 , 8-9:30 P.M. ET
March 7, 2012 by J!-ENT · Leave a Comment
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – March 7, 2012 – A grueling challenge on the ice leads to an amazing reward for one contestant — a shopping spree with singer, actress and fashion designer Jessica Simpson on “The Biggest Loser,” airing Tuesday, March 13 (8:00-9:30 p.m. ET) on NBC. “Fashion Star,” the new NBC series featuring Simpson as a fashion mentor, premieres at 9:30 p.m. ET immediately following this episode of “The Biggest Loser.”
This week, the nine remaining contestants learn from host Alison Sweeney that the game is going to singles, and they will also face the season’s first yellow line at the weigh-in. Their challenge as individuals takes place on the ice, with each player harnessed by rope to a large ring in the center of the rink. In a physically demanding tug-of-war twist, each contestant has to try to make their way to a buzzer in front of them, while also pulling all the other contestants in their desired direction. A Yankee Swap prize system guarantees a prize for all, though some are far more desirable than others, with the grand prize being a shopping spree with a celebrity.
The celebrity is singer, actress and fashion designer Jessica Simpson, who helps style the winning player plus another contestant of their choice in her Jessica Simpson Collection Los Angeles showroom. It’s a dream come true for the two lucky players who get to try on clothes from Jessica’s clothing line and see how amazing they look in their new smaller sizes. Plus, they get to keep whatever they want from her collection, including clothes, purses, shoes and accessories so they can look their best when they leave the ranch and return home. Simpson also gives each contestant a special gift.
Also, the tables are turned when one contestant gets a chance to coach trainer Bob Harper, while another player reveals a painful secret from her past to trainer Dolvett Quince as he tries to help her overcome her fear of heights. Later, after two people fall below the yellow line at the weigh-in, a tough elimination sends another player home.
“The Biggest Loser” is a production of Reveille, 25/7 Productions and 3 Ball Productions. Ben Silverman, Dave Broome, JD Roth, Todd A. Nelson, Todd Lubin and Alex Katz are the executive producers.

QUOTABLES FROM “LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON” FEBRUARY 27 – MARCH 2
March 5, 2012 by J!-ENT · Leave a Comment
“How are you guys feeling tonight? Welcome to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon! Hey guys, last night was the 84th Annual Academy Awards, and listen to this — the ratings were up four percent from last year. Or as Angelina Jolie’s leg put it, ‘You’re welcome.’”
“Yeah, after the Oscars last night, everyone was talking about how Angelina Jolie showed off her leg. Which explains why the dog from ‘The Artist’ kept hitting on it at the after-party.”
“At the age of 82, Christopher Plummer became the oldest person to win an Oscar. 82 years old, yeah, it’s been a big year for Plummer – earlier this month, his testicles received a SAG award.”
“Hey, Happy Birthday to Justin Bieber, who turns 18 years old this week. You can tell he’s growing up, cuz today, he took down all his Justin Bieber posters.”
Hey, I was just reading about this. Bill Nye the Science Guy is suing his ex-girlfriend for more than 50 thousand dollars in legal bills. Legal experts were shocked – they were like ‘Bill Nye the Science Guy had a girlfriend??’”
“Did you guys see this? There was apparently an electrical fire today at Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. It was weird – instead of calling 911, Boston fans just heckled the fire until it left. (BOSTON) ‘Hey, fire! You’re not as hot as you think you are! You can’t burn my clothes — they’re flame retardant.’”
“How are you guys feeling tonight? Welcome to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon! Everybody is talking about the presidential election. Today, Mitt Romney accused the other GOP candidates of pandering to voters to get support. Yeah, Romney was like, ‘I would never pander to voters – I mean, unless you guys want me to.’”
“Today marks the 158th anniversary of the Republican Party. While tomorrow marks the 158th Republican debate.”
“This is interesting. A new study found that playing ‘World of Warcraft’ can improve the memory of seniors. Even my Grandma was like, ‘Pssh – I’m not playin’ with those nerds.’”
“I just saw this. A new report found that Hawaii has the best quality of life of any state in the U.S. You know, just in case you thought it sucked living in Hawaii.”
“Check this out. A wildlife park in Louisiana says that two of its female chimps managed to get pregnant, even though all of its male chimps have had vasectomies. Or as one wildlife official put it, (AWKWARD) ‘WHOA THAT’S WEIRD HAHAHA–Let’s go look at the zebras over here!’”
“Hey guys, get this. I read about a man in Missouri who can freeze-dry pet dogs and cats after they die. Yeah, it’s interesting how the guy came up with the idea – he’s a psycho.”
“Hey guys, listen to this. A company in Japan has plans to build a space elevator that will take passengers 22 thousand miles above Earth. It’s a long ride – people will be like, (AWKWARDLY RIDING) ‘Mondays, huh? (LONG BEAT, LOOK AT WATCH) Tuesdays, right? Tuesdays.’”
“And finally, tomorrow is Leap Day, you guys! It’s something that only happens once every four years – or as Newt Gingrich calls that, ‘a sit-up.’”
“How are you feeling tonight? Welcome to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon! We got big election news, you guys. Last night Mitt Romney came in first place in the Michigan primary, although he barely won. Incidentally, ‘barely one’ is also the total number of votes Ron Paul received.”
“In yesterday’s Michigan primary, Newt Gingrich actually came in fourth place. Or as the ice cream in his freezer put it, ‘It’s gonna be a loooong night.’”
“Speaking of Newt Gingrich, yesterday he said that Mitt Romney is so close-minded that he would have fired Christopher Columbus. Romney denied it, saying, ‘Are you kidding me? A man with three boats? That’s my kinda guy!’”
“And did you see this? President Obama said that Mitt Romney’s opposition to the auto industry bailout was a load of quote ‘you-know-what.’ Then Biden was like, (EXCITED, RAISING HAND) ‘Oh I know – CRAP!’”
“Some big international news. North Korea has officially agreed to suspend its nuclear program. Apparently they watched one episode of ‘Toddlers and Tiaras’ and realized we’re destroying our own society.”
“This isn’t good. A company in California is recalling a dietary supplement because it contains a product used to treat erectile dysfunction. Or as consumers put it, (LOOK DOWN) ‘Wow – this really does improve bone density!’”
“Listen to this. The Ringling Brothers Circus held clown auditions at New York City’s Grand Central Station this week. Yeah, traffic in mid-town was crazy – there was like, ONE car.”
“Hey,some big celebrity news. There are reports that Snooki from MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore’ is pregnant. Yeah, even the stars of ‘Teen Mom’ were like, (SHAKE HEAD) ‘She’s not ready.’”
“That’s right, reports say that Snooki is pregnant. Sammi, J-Woww, and Deena said, ‘I can’t believe you’re gonna be a mother!’ While Ronnie, Vinny, and The Situation said, ‘I can’t believe I’m gonna be a father!’”
“Welcome to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon! You guys, this is our 600th episode! Which means we’re only twenty-seven episodes away from our 627th episode.”
“Hey, I just read this. Police officers across the country say that because of the economy, more thieves are stealing gas from parked cars. Yeah, victims said they hadn’t felt that robbed since they put the gas into their car.”
“Listen to this. To celebrate Leap Day, Disneyland stayed open for 24 hours straight yesterday. So if you’re someone who likes to hang out at Disneyland at 3 a.m. – Hi, I’m Chris Hansen from ‘Dateline NBC.’”
“Some TV news. Next month is the premiere of the new show, ‘The Real Housewives of Vancouver.’ You can tell it’s Canada – the housewives say nice things to each other’s faces, but then they go behind each other’s backs…and say even nicer things.”
“Did you see this? A new study found that cavemen suffered from many of the same diseases that modern humans have. You could tell when one caveman was like, ‘Bunga-unga. Sorry, me dyslexic.’”
“The same study also found that early cavemen were lactose intolerant. Which explains those cavemen that were like, ‘Me better have soy milk. You no want to be in cave after me have regular milk.’”
“This is pretty weird. A company in Connecticut is now selling a Mitt Romney action figure. Yeah, it’ll actually bend to whatever position you want – just like the real Mitt Romney!”
“How are you feeling tonight? Welcome to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon! I’m so excited, you guys – tonight we have Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band! And this is cool, today is also our show’s third birthday you guys! Yeah yeah, you only remembered that cuz Facebook told you.”
“Let’s get to some news you guys. Energy Secretary Steven Chu said his goal is to decrease our dependence on foreign oil, but not to lower gas prices. When Chu said that, Republicans were like, ‘Oh no Chu di-in’t.’”
“Check this out. This week, Republican Senator Orrin Hatch accused President Obama of pandering to the ‘hipster wing’ of the Democratic Party. It’s pretty shocking – not that he said that, just that Orrin Hatch knows what a hipster is.”
“Listen to this. New York City’s first gay hotel opened this week. Yeah, it’s that one upscale hotel: the Four Stevens.”
“Yeah, it’s replacing that other gay hotel, ‘Howard’s Johnson.’”
“Listen to this, you guys. This week, a 95-year-old woman married a 98-year-old man to become the world’s oldest newlyweds. Yeah, they’re registered at ‘Bed, Sponge Bath and Beyond.’”
“Yeah, on their wedding night, the sign on their door just said, ‘This Is Disturbing.’”
“And finally, I read that Kim Kardashian is being sued for five million dollars for endorsing a diet pill that doesn’t work. That’s weird – if there’s anyone who’s perfect to represent ‘not working,’ it’s Kim Kardashian.”
QUOTABLES FROM “SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’S WEEKEND UPDATE WITH SETH MEYERS” – MARCH 3, 2012
March 5, 2012 by J!-ENT · Leave a Comment
“WEEKEND UPDATE” ANCHOR SETH MEYERS – “While campaigning at the Daytona 500 this past weekend, Mitt Romney may have hurt his image when he said that he doesn’t “closely” follow the race but he does have friends who are “NASCAR team owners.” It also didn’t help that he kept referring to the drivers as ‘chauffeurs.’”
MEYERS – “Ahead of the Michigan primary this week, Mitt Romney received the endorsement of musician Kid Rock. Now he just has to focus on locking up the Juggalo vote.”
MEYERS – “Jersey Shore star Snooki is reportedly pregnant and insiders are extremely concerned how this will affect her upcoming spin-off series with JWoww – but no one is more concerned about Snooki’s pregnancy than this insider.”
MEYERS – “High Times magazine this week named Seth Rogan its “Stoner of the Year” for the second time. Or as Rogan thinks of it, the first time.”
MEYERS – “Hallmark this week announced that it will soon release a line of Justin Bieber greeting cards. It’s the perfect way to show your daughter that you know exactly one thing about her.”
MEYERS – “The Slovak Republic has set up an online contest to allow the public to name a bridge and the name currently in first place is Chuck Norris. Guys, you can’t name a bridge after Chuck Norris, because nobody crosses Chuck Norris.”
MEYERS – “It was discovered that a female chimpanzee living in an animal sanctuary in Louisiana got pregnant despite the fact that all the males there had been given vasectomies. So either someone made a mistake or we’re about to meet Chimpanzee Jesus.”
MEYERS – “A couple that was hoping to visit both Disney World and Disneyland within 24 hours on Leap Day failed because of delays caused by Los Angeles area traffic. But really, they failed the moment they came up with that idea.”
MEYERS – “According to a new survey from the American Kennel Club, the Labrador is the most popular breed in the country for the 21st straight year. While the least popular breed remains the Bull-huahua.”
