Brooks & Dunn, the best-selling duo in the history of country music, will perform one of their hit songs as voted on by their fans on the 45TH ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, to be broadcast live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Sunday, April 18 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. The duo is embarking on their final tour together this summer, and this will mark their final ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS performance as a duo.

RAPPER DONNIS GETS SIGNED TO ATLANTIC RECORDS

Atlantic Records has announced the signing of their new artist Donnis who has released the details of his first-ever US tour. The rising rapper will be among the multi-artist hip-hop bill entitled the “Crowd Control Tour,” also featuring Kidz In The Hall, 88-Keys and Izza Kizza. The 16-city trek kicked off on Sunday, February 28th at New York City’s Highline Ballroom, with dates then continuing through early April (see attached itinerary below).
Donnis is quickly making a name as one of the most talented new stars on the Southern hip-hop scene. The Georgia-based MC first attracted attention last year with 10.Deep’s breakout mixtape, “DIARY OF AN ATL BRAVE,” and has since scored major appeal amongst listeners with his smoothed out rap anthem, “Gone” (released on revered DJ/Producer A-trak’s Brooklyn based Fool’s Gold Records). “Donnis is a truly original, compelling new voice on the hip-hop landscape, and we pulled out all the stops to bring him into the Atlantic family. His creativity and lyrical flow are hugely impressive, and the Diary of an ATL Brave mixtape was a captivating introduction to this major talent. Now that we’ve sealed the deal, we’re looking forward to watching Donnis take it to the next level” proclaimed Atlantic Records Chairman and CEO Craig Kallman.
While hard at work completing his Atlantic debut album, Donnis will keep listeners entertained with his new mixtape “Fashionably Late” set to be released this month. Currently featured in the March issue of XXL’s “Show and Prove”, Donnis will also be included in the magazine’s hugely influential “Freshmen 10″ alongside West Coast rapper Nipsey Hussle and J. Cole from North Carolina. The talented rapper who has already shared stages with such luminaries as T.I., Chingy, and 112 – will also be among the new stars performing at the upcoming South By Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas.

Sevendust - Lajon Witherspoon (Vocals), Morgan Rose (Drums/Vocals), Clint Lowery (Guitar/Vocals), Vince Hornsby (Bass/Vocals), John Connolly (Guitar/Vocals) – are set to release their 8th studio album. Cold Day Memory comes out April 20th 2010 on their own 7Bros. Records, through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group. Sevendust recorded Cold Day Memory with Grammy nominated producer Johnny K (Disturbed, Staind, 3 Doors Down, Plain White T’s). It’s the band’s first new album with their original lineup back together. Guitar player Clint Lowery last recorded an album as part of Sevendust on 2003′s Seasons.
“This record personally has been one of the most difficult, but most rewarding records I’ve ever worked on” explains Lowery. “I put a lot of pressure on myself to contribute good material to the guys after being gone for last three records and that helped me focus more than I ever had.” Adds Lajon Witherspoon: “I feel this album shows new growth for the band. We’re very happy to have Clint back and are looking forward for everyone hearing the magic that’s made when we’re all together!”
Sevendust’s new single “Unraveling” is getting a great reaction at Rock Radio. With back to back double digit add weeks at Active Rock before it’s actual add date (next week), this is the most well received Sevendust track in the last decade.
