Erika Sawajiri’s tearful apology for being selfish

Erika Sawajiri was one of Japan’s up-and-coming actresses but in 2007, she suddenly became one of the country’s most despised actresses. From a press conference which the actress hardly spoke and acted as if she was grumpy and bored (Sawajiri felt the film was bad and thus she didn’t feel like promoting the film), in 2008, the actress got married, in 2009 she was divorced and fired from her management agency and lost the lead role to one of the biggest budget sci-fi films of Japan and in 2010, she went to Spain to create her own management agency.

Now to begin the year, Sawajiri is learning that public perception of her is quite negative and the actress held a press conference on January 23rd for canceling public appearances and said the selfish deeds were due to a rough period in her marriage.

The actress was able to hold a press conference at Yuri Takano’s “Takano Yuri Beauty Clinic” in Tokyo and answered questions which was asked by Takano.

The actress said a lot of her problems were due to her divorce with her husband and leaving to Spain was because he was there and he kept asking her to visit him. As for her management agency in Spain, Sawajiri said she resigned as president of “ET” last December and set up a new talent agency in Spain.

As for the future, Sawajiri told the media that she knows that she caused a lot of trouble and betrayed the trust of many people. She admits that it will not be easy for her to pursue an acting career or anything that she wants to do. But she wants to bridge the gap with others that she betrayed to renew confidence and hope that she is lucky enough to be offered a job.
