Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren’s divorce is final

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren’s divorce is final. The two released the following joint statement:

“We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us. Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being. The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.”

Tiger Woods gives an apology

Tiger Woods gave his statement/apology early Friday morning. The popular golfer engulfed in a myriad of alleged sexual affairs and media scrutiny said:

I want to say to each of you simply and directly: I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible, selfish behavior… I know people want to find out how i could be so selfish and so foolish. People want to know how I could have done these things to my wife Elin and to my children. And while I have always tried to be a private person, there are some things i want to say, Elin and I have started the process of discussing the damage caused by my behavior. My real apology .. will come from my behavior. We have a lot to discuss. What we say to each other will remain between the two of us.
