Heroes & Heralds Mode for UMvC 3 Available Today

The free Heroes & Heralds mode DLC for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on PS3 and X360 is available today for download.  In addition, Capcom is pleased to confirm that the Heroes & Heralds mode will be included standard in the upcoming PlayStation Vita version of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. A new trailer highlighting the PS Vita-specific features is now available for download on the press site.

Heroes & Heralds is a separate mode that adds new and customizable features to online and offline gameplay. Players will choose between two factions – Heroes or Heralds– and will engage in a series of battles with the opposing side to help save the world or take it over. Gameplay in the Heroes & Heralds mode will be altered through the acquisition of Ability cards that range from basic alterations (speed boost) to game-changing, combo enhancing powers (invisibility or ability to pass through projectiles). Cards can be used in online and offline versions of the Heroes & Heralds modes as well as the training mode. Ability cards are based on classic Marvel and Capcom characters.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 takes the epic battle to all new heights with 12 new characters from the Marvel and Capcom universes, a refined fighting system,eightnew stagesand new modes. The PS Vita edition of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will feature online and local multiplayer, touchscreen functionality, NEAR and everything you would find in the PS3 version. In addition, the PS Vita version includes a Spectator Mode and Replay function that allows players to watch or share exciting matches over wi-fi. PS Vita exclusive Gold Herald color options are also available for the characters. As an integrated option, gamers can use the PS Vita as the “Ultimate Controller” to play the PS3 version of the game.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is rated T for Teen by the ESRB and is available now in North America on PS3 and X360 for the low MSRP of $39.99. As a launch title for the PlayStation Vita system, the game will be available alongside the PS Vita First Edition bundle on February 15, 2012. The regular launch date for the PS Vita system is February 22, 2012.

Street Fighter X Tekken Release Date, Gem System, Special Edition Revealed

Today at New York Comic-Con, Street Fighter X Tekken producer Yoshinori Ono revealed a ton of new info, including the revolutionary Gem System, an all-new customizable power-up system that creates an exciting way for everyone to experience the Street Fighter and Tekken fighting systems. Choose from dozens of Gems that modify characters’ abilities and stats. Check out the new trailer that sheds light on this new way to experience fighting games.

Resident Evil 4 Now Available for Download

Beginning today, Resident Evil 4 is available for download on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Games on Demand. This release marks the first time that the beloved game will be available in HD. Resident Evil 4 features upgraded visuals and support for Trophies and Achievements.

One of the most critically acclaimed games of all time, Resident Evil 4 catapulted the series in a new direction, with a strong focus on all-out action as Leon S. Kennedy battled hordes of cultists, mutants and mind-controlled villagers. Get your cameras ready, Dead Rising 2 Off The Record is making an appearance in Seattle this weekend for the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) and is debuting an all new mode. Requested by the fans since Dead Rising launched, the team at Capcom Vancouver has developed a Sandbox Mode exclusively for Dead Rising 2 Off The Record.

Players can explore the casinos, restaurants, malls and new Uranus Zone that comprise Fortune City without the obstacle of time. Challenges placed throughout the city offer players the chance to earn additional cash for use in the pawn shops and vending machines around Fortune City. Ranging from collection style challenges to vehicle-based challenges to zombie massacre challenges; the higher the rank of the player, the more cash they win.

Arcade-Perfect Re-Creation Adds HD Graphics, Robust Online Functionality and Challenge System for Fighting Game Fans

SAN MATEO, Calif.August 23, 2011 — Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced the release of Street Fighter® III: Third Strike Online Edition for PlayStation®Network and Microsoft Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. One of the deepest and most sophisticated fighting games of all time, Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition maintains an arcade-perfect experience while including additional features such as updated graphics, a robust online experience, and a deep challenge system allowing players to push themselves and reap rewards for accomplishments beyond wins and losses.

Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition will be the first pure fighting game to use GGPO-netcode – an often fan-requested feature. Mega Man 5 Released for Virtual Console!

Beginning today Mega Man 5 can be downloaded for Wii via Nintendo’s Virtual Console for 500 Wii Points.

Originally released in 1992 on the NES, this platforming action game features Mega Man in his classic 8-bit glory as he runs, jumps and shoots his way through 13 stages and eight robot masters.

Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes on sale on Amazon for $19.99 (Video Game Deal of the Day!)
